Snap Swarm

By BlodVargarna, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ok guys I'm a Rebel through and through, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try this list out:

(100)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (20) - TIE Bomber
TIE Shuttle (0), Operations Specialist (3), Intelligence Agent (1)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) - TIE Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) - TIE Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) - TIE Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) - TIE Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) - TIE Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

What do you think?

I've been thinking of running a similar one myself, which I came up with back when I only had 2 TIEs but 6 F/O.

Gamma Squadron Pilot (24)
TIE Bomber (18), TIE Shuttle (0), Lightweight Frame (2), Operations Specialist (3), Intelligence Agent (1)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) x 4
TIE/fo Fighter (17), Snap Shot (2)

Haven't played this, scum player myself and my ties tend to die in one shot... but here it is:

Major Stridan (32)
Electronic Baffle (1)
Operations Specialist (3)

Black Squadron Pilot (14)
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (14)
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (14)
Snap Shot (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (14)
Snap Shot (2)

Total: 100

Probably the more useful of the two - the problem with an Operations specialist supporting 'normal' TIE fighters is that if you give them free focus, you can't do anything much else with their action - yes, obviously you can K-turn or barrel roll (good for lining up snap shots) but if you don't need to your only other option is evade (also nice but without the ability to also equip Juke only useful on the 1 ship being shot at). By comparison, a TIE/fo can target lock, giving you TL/focus/range 1 primary attacks.

If going for snap shot mobs, I'd seriously consider supporting with Snap Shot/Tactician Rhymer, and/or Mauler Mithel & Scourge, for much more tactically powerful Snap Shots, or else go for a 6-ship squad to get the advantage of numbers over the A-wing equivalent.
