Irma

I was in Tampa for 4 years. With the eye of the storm going to pass over it, I'm fairly certain the city will be devastated. University of Tampa, where I went to school, is right on the Hillsborough river. 3-4 feet increase in water floods campus. For reference, this picture happened in 2015 during a "normal" storm. Most of Bay Shore was flooded for a few days.

If I were in Tampa, this would be me.

I tought about doing this in my Royal Guard outfit, but I don't want to get my velvet wet... ?

Yes, but speed has slowed down from 12 to 9.

Basicaally, these things don't turn on a dime, but she's turning... (Note, the link image provided automatically updates)

So...Hurricanes are VSDs?

Just poor planning all around, looks like.

Well, to be honest, how much "Good" planning can you do when your premise is "Build a City in a Swamp in the direct path of Hurricanes..."

Hahaha oh yea. The houses on Bayshore are quite expensive, upwards of a million dollars. Not sure why they city would but a road next to a river that floods at the slightest rainfall.

I'm in Orlando. Not directly in the war path, but we'll get a ton of rain and wind, I'm hoping it's severity is minimal. Boarded up stuff anyways and being fairly safe. Got some friends staying at the house with me and were playing board games and having a good time! Hopefully this passes quickly so I can get back to making some more videos!

From the UK, I hope you and your families are safe and your SW stuff and board game collections are staying dry.

And don't worry, Trump believes in climate change......erm. Either that or declare war on massive cloud formations or something.

In all seriousness, best wishes.

As you all get a chance, sound off so we know you all are OK, and made it through.

Meanwhile, Jose has pulled an Engine-Tech 360 and is once again aiming at Florida rather than Bermuda.

Jacksonville still here.

Still feeling the after effects, but we're past the worst part.

I kept seeing videos with this on YouTube, but they didn't mention the website. Thank You.

Windy is wonderful. Its not a perfect predictive medium (I mean, nothing really is), but its pretty good for "free". Certainly on par with the proprietary military stuff I saw pandered around the SAN at RAAF ESL a few years back. I mean. It was 15 years back. But hey, any day you can claim the fruits of prop. military tech in a civilian setting for free is either a great thing or treason! :D

I've got to tell you I didn't sleep well last night/ early this morning. Wind was howling, kept getting flash flood alerts, and there was a weird loud horn like sound in the distance.

We still have flash flood warnings in effect till 6:00PM. Luckily we don't live in a flood zone, but there is still a ton of debris, and downed trees.

There is some insane weather in this world.

Coats Land's wind is crazygonuts. How come The Weather Channel never covers that?

FAKE NEWS.

Anyone get a look at that "giant formation" south south east of the falklands? the hot weather spot with the giant swilling wind pattern... not sure if it is even actually anything but still..

edit: I assuming colour indicates thermal stuff probably doesn't.

The colour is representative of wind speed, if all you have done is look around without changing settings...

now, effectively what you are seeing there is a global warming vision for the future of the Gulf of Mexico...

ehat at that is , is effectively a giant permanent storm pattern that rages where the mild Atlantic meets the Antarctic. It's not entirely unlike the gulf area, but for a single exception - the Gulf Stream. If we kick that out of kilter, that is what you can expect up north :)

@Darth Lupine , when you can, post the RG pic for these guys!
