Recently as a new player I received a lot of help from the Squad Lists section about what a good starter list would be. I also noticed that it took a long while to get replies. As I look back at my first post I realize that when people post things like "New player what should I buy" it may take a while to get replies because the people in the Squad List forum are looking for Squad Lists. Because of the rapid growth of X-Wing I think it could helpful to have a New Player category to help new players. Tell me what you guys think of this idea.

It was once explained to me that since you need moderator approval for your first post to appear, by the time it appears it's usually farther down the list of threads and people don't see it. But it unfortunately appears that it's being ignored.

I don't really mind the new player threads in the Squad Lists section, but I guess we'll see what others say!

I didn't expect my first post to need two days to be approved, but if that is the problem, you can always "bump" your post to the top again by making another comment on your post.

Also, I often skip reading "New Player" titles to posts mainly because I've "been there, done that" and feel like I'm repeating myself. Just speaking for myself of course.

I don't feel we need a new category, but if someone were to write a post regarding new players with tips on list building, movement, rock placement and maybe a few "beginner" squads for each faction that won't die by round 3, then we might be able to get that pinned on the main board possibly.
