Can't decide between Rebel CC fleets

By SQUIDwarrior, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I'm about to start a 4-player Corellian Conflict campaign and I am playing Rebels. I've been agonizing about which of these two lists to use. The Garm list I've tested twice in starting fleet form, with 2 wins. The Sato fleet is something new I came up with because I really want to try something different from my usual "big ship" lists. Unfortunately, totally untested. Both lists here are the 500-pt versions that I have planned out (though it may change during the campaign). My teammate is using a dual Assault Frigate list with Ackbar that is pretty punishing.

Would love some feedback on both and, which should I take into battle?

Ah, good point. Here are the 400pt variants. For List #2 I am thinking of swapping Wedge for Ten Numb.

I'm leaning towards the Sato list right now. I think it's harder to pilot than the Garm list, but it seems like way more fun. My only real concern is the Hammerheads. I've never used them before so I'm worried I won't fly them efficiently.

Blue dice Sato is pretty fun. But you will need to invest in some defense for your poor liberty or he is going to really hamper your fleet with outrageous refit bills.

Id suggest Derlin or Lando over Intel officer simply in the survivability they will give you (lando if you face lots of black dice or an avenger isd with boarding troopers, derlin otherwise imo)

I would also try to work engine techs onto the liberty. With its less than ideal nav chart, going speed 1 and using engine techs is way better than speed 2. Also means you can ramp to 4 to escape hopefully keeping it from dying. Also, in cc once it geta a vet token ET is extremely powerful.

Id also clip spinals for QBT (nearly the same effect if you are careful about the trigger). Its especially easy to get the dice when yoi have ET and go speed 1.

With only 2 hammerheads task force antilles would be the much more useful title for them. Not being able to attack is a big drawback. Or cut them entirely for more points.

Hmm, you have some good points there. As much as I'd like to play with the Hammerheads, I think that just 2 isn't enough to be efficient in the campaign. So I did some fiddling and here's what I camp up with (for both 400pt and 500pt versions).

TL;DR: Swapped the MC80 Star Cruiser for a Battle Cruiser w/Engine Techs, dropped the Hammerheads for an MC30 Torp, and added the GR-75 w/ Jamming Field. I also tweaked the final load out for the MC80 based on you suggestions and messed with the squadrons. I think this could be good fun! Campaign starts tomorrow afternoon, so I still have time to tweak.

Why Sato with only 3 battle ships..

Thats not to be mean, just something seems lost in tthe process.

You will be wanting Tycho as well.

Beyond that I think you will have fun with the above!

Tycho is good, and i think the hammerheads were solid. I ran one in my cc list, they dont always need to be spammed. Just tf organa

Isn't that the core of the challenge of Sato at 400 pts - hard to get enough combat ships and a sturdy squad force?

Hmm. I guess my thought was I'd rather have a sturdier ship like an MC30 rather than the Hammerheads that'd keep getting killed, but maybe it would be better to have the extra activations. I didn't think of adding Tycho, but I can see how he would be really good with Sato.

We started our CC campaign yesterday and I just wanted to thank you all for the help! We split our first games, I won mine and my teammate lost his. But here was the list i finally settled on. Due an oversight on my part, I didn't have enough Y-Wings to build my original list with 4, but this list actually did pretty well. I lost Yavaris (tried to run away but got caught by the full-force of an ISD front arc), 1 Hammerhead, and all my X-Wings (including Wedge) but I managed to kill my opponent's ISD and Light Carrier, plus a lot of squadrons. So I feel pretty good about that!

As soon as those **** squadron packs are back in stock I'm going to buy one so I can get more Y-Wings.
