So I have purchased 2 of the new starters and I'm torn between 3 decks to build

Elite vader (awk)/phasma

Elite vader (sor)/ elite phasma

Elite be kylo/ elite fn

The potential for all 3 is huge I feel, I've seen a few deckiss around but wonderes what the greater community thoughts are.

Also do you think young vader and phasma could work as pure melee, I really struggle to roll specials on holocron even if I get it out, toughrs please

All three are very interesting possibilities, for sure! I think eVader(SoR)/ePhasma is the best in my opinion. Make sure you have as much dice control as possible in there. Usually when I run a really aggro deck, I try to have about 12-15 upgrades, 4 damage events (such as Anger, Lightsaber Throw), some resource generation (Enrage), and 9-12 dice control cards (Isolation, Manipulate, etc.)

I never put holocron or any abilities in my Vader(SoR)/Kylo deck. It's just too slow of a strategy for a deck that has enough damage on its character dice alone to kill stuff round one. So yeah, I'd advise against any Holocron shenanigans in that deck.

Thanks for the reply, I know opponents will target anakin so my thoughts are all upgrades on phasma so they switch or she's a tank when she's on her own

I have put together a Phasma / eDarth (awk) deck for my local SC tomorrow. Leveraging price of failure, leadership and Praetorian guard to keep Vader in the game and sacrificing Phasma. Phasma special can be a real game changer as well with Darths potential early damage output. Have boundless ambition in there as well to spam the rerolls.

Emo Kids does benefit from Holocron as young vader does not have resource side on his dice and can cost a resource to do decent damage.

Holocron and force throw, mind probe or lightning can help a lot, and it gives more dice in the pool, each of which can dish out damage or give additional resources to pay for vader/kylo base damage.

Also, once Vader is dead, Kylo's dice are rather sub-standard to do damage without help.

Sorry for taking the opportunity to ask a tangential question but does "emo kids" refer to any vader/kylo team or only with vader(sor)?

Would vader(sor)/tormented one be "super" emo kids?

"Emo Kids" refers specifically to eVader(SoR)/eKylo(Aw). No offense to anyone who likes it, but I'm pretty sure any Vader(Aw)/eKylo(Aw) deck is garbage in any really competitive scene.

That would be awesome, but new Kylo costs 14 non-elite. So you can only do Vader(SoR)/eKylo(TPS) which is not great (you want Kylo's ability and Vader's dice).

I think this forum needs a slang glossary like MrFroggies did for X-Wing...

I came 3rd with my deck. To be honest though I could have just of easily finished 1 win 3 losses instead of the opposite. Two games went down to either a bad roll from my opponent or a god roll from me.

My one loss was a pummeling against FN trooper Kylo. Vader insisted on rolling resources and shields and when he did roll well Doubt or isolation took it away.

I only managed to use leadership once in 4 games and not use price of failure at all as Phasma was going down pretty quickly.

Would probably drop Praetorian from my deck. Possibly put in an imperial inspection and possibly a rise again.

I ran anakin/phasma last night and went 5-0, never had more than 3 upgrades out, only drawback is anakin 3 damage 1 pay side but when electrostaff is out that will negate that, I think this is def the build
