Indomitable class card question

By wakefieldbw, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Please confirm:

If I have Indomitable exhausted, and an attack on a villain is declared, I can spend 1 threat to ready Indomitable, and then immediately exhaust it for use during the declared attack.

Thanks.

Yes. That is what it does.

Yes. You choose the order of your abilities with the same trigger.

Let say you exhaust the card to add one black die to your defense pool, you are no longer protected from harmful conditions, right?

Unless a card is a "deplete" card, you can still use the other effects of an already exhausted card. So even with it exhausted you still cannot gain harmful conditions.

Exhaust is a cost to activating that specific ability. All abilities of the card are still available, you just can't pay any exhaust costs. So, you can still use other abilities that do not have costs or have costs other than exhaust that you can and are willing to pay. (All abilities with costs are optional, including, but not limited to exhaust, deplete, discard the card/token, suffer strain, suffer damage, spend threat, spend movement point(s).)

Only if a card is depleted (or removed from game), its abilities no longer exist.

(And in this case, the bottom ability would make no sense if you could not do it while the card is exhausted.)

Can't wait to buy this upgrade after my next mission and use with my villains: Bossk and Grand Inquisitor.

Even though Darth Vader is very expansive in threat, just imagine exhausting this card to add one more black die to his defense pool ... 3 black dice!

I guess it should also be really good with the Inquisitor to make him roll white and black on defense.

Royal Guard Champion for white black black. Excellent block, excellent evade, and a one in six chance of a dodge.

For me ultimately it came down to either RGC or The Inquisitor.

I picked TGI thinking he could last a long time given his higher health and with upgrades like Indomitable. His lower cost also gives more flexibility in choosing deployments and reinforcements.

Plus that surge for Deadly is fantastic.

That was the same choice for me, but I chose RGC for two reasons: I've always loved that character ever since the first time my rebels did Mak's mission, and the rebels have no force users with them. While I think TGI is probably a more solid choice, I just love the twin bladed fury of a Cracked out RGC.

I am having a lot of success with Capt Terro and Jabba. Very good type coverage for Inpirational. In the early game, Terro is tough to deal with. And Jabba excels in large maps, or in missions with particularly aggressive timers.

My favorite combo I've found so far is Terro with Nexu's to give them an evade + a block once per round.

The only drawback is you can't really use Terro & Jabba in the campaign it came with (Jabba's Realm).

I also think Maul will also be a good candidate for a villian. Force User trait is useless and Brawler is okay, although Royal Guards like extra surge.

Maul also Inspires Nexi for an extra evade. Both are Brawlers . (I have BT-1 and Maul.)
