Content Frequency vs Wave Frequency

By drail14me, in X-Wing

We are about to get a burst of Star Wars content over the next 8 months. Season 4 of Rebels starting in October, The Last Jedi in December then Han Solo in May, 2018. There will be new ships in all.

So, how does FFG keep up with the content? Are we going to see a burst in wave releases or will this content be released slowly over the next 20 months until the release of Ep IX in May of 2019?

My guess is:

- 2 ship mini "waves" coinciding with movie releases. These will be ships featured in the new movie. TFA was the t70 and tie FO. Rogue One was Uwing and Striker. Expecting in the next few weeks a leak about the TLJ ones.

- Regular interval waves otherwise. The rebels content will make its way out gradually. Same for additional "new film" ships. And quite likely more esoteric EU stuff that makes people say "huh?"

TLJ ships as Kylo Tie and resistance A-Wing? Or 40 buck Large Resistence Bomber? Like the Rebs need moar bombs.

I'd be surprised if we see any variation in 2 waves and 2 aces packs/epics every year, with one or both waves having 'extra' ships from whatever the current new movie is.

And people say FFG is going to run out of ships. Not with the way Disney is cranking out Star Wars films.

Why not both?

I'm certain we'll get the Resistance Bomber in a later wave, like the TIE/sf or the Batshuttle. Hopefully along side the FO Bomber that's been spotted in some promotional material.

They don't. Still AWOL:

Rogue One shuttle

Krennic's Shuttle

Hammerhead Corvette

Partisan X-Wing

Blue Squadron

Phoenix Squadron

Bladewing Prototype

Thrawn

Sentinel-class Shuttle

Mining Guild TIE

And many more. No of which will likely be seen anytime soon with new content in the pipes.

i feel ya, but id prefer they slowed the releases, or at least didnt speed up. 12 ships a year is already a lot. quality over quantity will make a better game and fewer better balanced ships keep people exited for new releases instead of fatigued with the game
