TIE fighter title

TIE Swarm title

  • TIE Fighter / Empire only

If you haven't performed an attack this phase, you may receive one weapons disabled token to allow another friendly ship with this title to roll an extra attack die.

Cost 0

Powercreep just arrived for the Empire Beaches!

Did you say he has Swarm Leader too?

I think either PTL to always trigger his ability, or VI for higher PS would be better.

Or have a bomber around with PTL and Kylo Ren and Fleet officer crew. :D

Two easy fixes for Imperial TIE Fighters:

Option 1:

When the number of damage cards assign to you equals or exceeds your hull value, you are not destroyed until the end of the round.

Option 2:

When attacking, after the "modify attack dice" step, if you have at least two hit results, you may add an additional hit result.

Option 1 provides much needed staying power and enables swarms to bring their full power to a joust without fear of losing their dice concentration in the opening salvo. Opponents would actually fear jousting a swarm again and may actually cause people to rethink their approach. Option 2 is just outright dice creep but in a way that provides tactical options to the swarm player as opposed to just outright raw damage.

FFG very rarely does buffs, but my brother had a Fel's Wrath fix that was basically this.

His ability applies to all friendly ships at range 1-2.

Might still be too expensive to run in the middle of a TIE Swarm though.

Could just be a title, i think every ship in the game is going to have a title eventually, some with multiple.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a TIE/LN Starfighter title at some point, a TIE/IT Interdictor would also be a possibility.

****, could even do a bunch of Incom T-65, Incom T-65B, Incom T65C, etc etc titles.

I think this would work.

It could be a title called "Emperors finest" or something else equally fanatical. they are just grunts, mindlessly following their orders. even after their ship is already beyond destroyed

I dont think tie swarms will ever be (nor should be) super competitive. however this is a simple fix that could make them work. not to mention be really fun.

Why shouldn't they be competitive?

I like the first idea. sort of a combined fire rule. it doesn't even have to be a title it could just be a new rule.

The way this is worded, a single TIE can receive multiple weapons disabled tokens to buff multiple friendlies, or the same one several times:

Quickdraw with Expertise, FCS and so on, surrounded by at least 5 TIEs feeding her dice. That's at least an 8 die shot, or 2 7 die ones. If they're foolish enough to shoot QD, that's potentially 28 dice in a single turn, in batches of 7...

Powercreep is going to go hide in a corner from this new, terrible thing.

How about:

"When attacking, reduce the defender's agility dice by 1 if the defender is in arc and range of at least one other friendly ship."

I am sure someone will be able to word it better but essentially it just represents the difficulty of successfully evading shots en mass. It still requires skill (needing multiple ships in range and arc), it only reduces the defense by 1 so not massively broken and TIE Fighters are still only rolling two attack dice so people can't complain about red dice creep.
