Since, even if I was likely to make it to Nationals, the odds of me making a top eight cut at a national tournament are about the same as my being selected to star as a leading role in episode IX, this isn't massively relevant, unfortunately.
A dozen or so nationals each year, gotta roll those dice … if you attend them all someone has to gift them to you.

Yeah, but at least with those characters I can always go look up better looking images of them.
With Backstabber and Omega Leader, I have no idea at all what they look like, and this is the missed opportunity to find out.
I think a better indication of a swarm revival would be an alt art Winged Gundark. If they're thinking that cat is playable, then something really is changing.

Him and Kylo together make a Troll team to rival Wampa. These guys have a personal goal to make the enemy sound like their engines when they're done.
Bombs are everywhere, and they say no to formation flying. So no, the conventional Howlrunner swarm is not coming back without something changing. Which is annoying with the new Howl/Black sq alt arts coming out.
Miranda/Dash are both big in the meta, and are nightmares for tie swarms. I have put my swarm away for now, and I'm playing with other stuff.
I'd like to see Tie/lns get an extra red die if two or more of them have same target in arc and if an attacker is in arc of an additional Tie/ln besides the one he's attacking, the defending Tie can reroll any green dice. Make swarm and wingman tactics matter.
Turrets shouldn't be able to modify dice out of arc, or be mobile firing arcs.
IMO this would all go pretty far to making the game play like Star Wars instead of Dresden.
unless they are getting a free title that lets them roll defense dice to avoid indirect damage, all signs for the next few waves point to no.......
