Hoth Terrain

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Legion

Just uploaded part 4 of my series on making Hoth Terrain. It's been fun.

The explosions in the thumbnail are just Bandaii effects. Figured they'd look cool to add!

Amazing work. I like how you have created your ice effects for your terrain. I have enjoyed watching your videos in this series.

I am working on a Tattooine landscape (of course) but more of a Gaozan Badlands from EA's Star Wars Battlefront Game. Canyons with high plateaus and a fallen AT-AT or 2 (paper craft set on foam board). I will have some Tattooine huts and Moisture vaporators too but on the outskirts. I am also working on a Death Star/Imperial Station Interior.

I look forward to more of your work and hope that being in the Orlando area as well, we will be able to see this completed table somewhere hands on.

Very nice!

Between you, Black Magic Crafts (DND) and Commissar Gamza (Warhammer 40k) I'm inspired to go out and buy an bunch of pink foam and start building!

Really nice set piece @Crabbok - I've never been sure of the scale of the ION cannon myself, it looks gigantic in the movie. Never gotten close to it in Battlefront.

Yeah it's difficult to gauge. If I'm wrong then maybe it's just a ion Mini-Canon, on the semi remote ice worth of "Frosty". Can always claim it's a different planet!

The essential guide to weapons and technology uses a Golan Arms turret for scale, and using those measurements, the planetary ion cannon appears to be a little over 55 meters in diameter.

Well.. that would be about 1 meter on the table..

I'm ok with it being smaller than true scale. Maybe it's the new iCanon 8 - smaller with even more battery life! To much larger would seriously reduce play area, and we want room for those lovely miniatures!
