Death Star UC + Shield Bunker vs Rebel Fleet only

By Irokenics, in Star Wars: Rebellion

What happens in this scenario where after combat the only thing in the system is rebel space units, the DSUC and a shield bunker?

The DSUC cannot be destroyed or retreat. So dies the rebel player have to retreat or else be destroyed?

Retreat or be destroyed. Yes. This is the same situation as a normal Death Star without Death Star Plans

Except it's slightly different to "Death Star vs. 2 Ion Cannons" situation, where both sides couldn't damage each other at all (not even a theoretical possibility). Here, the Empire has a steady source of damage in form of tactic cards.

Not to mention that Rebels may still have U-Wing and deploy Vanguard [edit: or Trooper] to destroy Bunker.

Additionally, both sides may still want to cycle through tactic cards.

So until Corey rules otherwise, I would play the combat out - which might be long and tedious, admittedly.

That wasn't the scenario. The scenario was no ground troops. At the point where all that is left is an undestroyable Death Star or DSUC the rebels must retreat or be destroyed.

Just like in the movie: if the strike team on Endor had been defeated prior to knocking out the shield generator, the Rebels would have either been destroyed completely or (more likely) retreated when it became obvious that the ground forces had failed their mission.
