Dauntless Pathfinders

Forged in Battle is one of my new favorite upgrades. It makes a 2x2 spearmen block alot better.

Or using Hawthorne a 4 threat 4x1...

My first thought was, that would make them too unwieldy to maneuver.

Then I thought of how far a 3 move is, and how these shifty bastards could move forward, reform, then shift up the SIDE of the map in order to do a charge against a flank.

My only concern is not having enough money for all this! :D I was originally going to focus on just Uthuk Y'llan, but with the closest events happening 2.5 hours away (on a weeknight, no less), I'll probably have to support at least two factions for my own home games.

I started playing Knights in Diskwars, ended up playing Knights, Uthuk, Mahkim, and Dragonkin ><

Is Forged in Battle really supposed to be a Champion upgrade? It seems more like a Skill to me...

Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't think eventual Precision and even later Brutal is really worth missing out on a bonus die and a special ability.

I think the idea is the unit itself is in this case the champion.

  1. It's the cheapest Champion upgrade
  2. It's not as vulnerable to being sniped out as a figure upgrade
  3. Depending on deployment, units usually don't engage in the first few rounds anyway

I think Forged in Battle will see play.

There is a reason Kari fortunas is so popular, apparently it is #2 and typically known as wasted points.
