I have always been a fan of the ISDI, but I always felt it lacked a little in FFG's original execution of it in the game. With the advent of the Kuat refit and a couple of cards from earlier waves I think its time to shine may be here.

The choice of Admiral was a tough one. I think Thrawn is a fantastic addition to the Imperial arsenal, but with the ISDI in this configuration, I feel that being able to double click, click, double click at speed three with JJ wins out. Thrawn will have more economy with a list with more ships.
The addition of the defensive slot and ordnance slot to the Kuat refit, along with adding a DCO, really makes the ISDI the brawler it should always have been and APT's are a no brainer on the Kuats. Add to this the fact that the side arcs now carry a blue die and full value can be extracted from leading shots to push those APT crits.
In a fleet that wants to close and pound away toe-to-toe so to speak, Boarding Troopers and Avenger on one is sort of obligatory, I am not sure about them on the second ISD, but they may be advantageous if Avenger can attack the BT'd ship as well.
Squadron cover is medium/light, but the list is designed to close fast and so its job is to hold enemy squadrons up long enough for the ISD's to deliver the crippling blows to enemy vessels.
The Gozanti will allow me to push 2 squads via Relay and to feed an Eng. token to an ISD to repair the shield damage that JJ will inflict from time to time.
Overall, the list is designed to take the fight to the enemy, close in fast, dish out severe punishment and weather the returning fire.
It lends itself to my style of play so I am hopeful it works out.
It will, at a minimum be fun to play, which is really all that matters.
