Campaign Play - winner controls planet ?

By soulman, in Star Wars: Legion

Legion will have a selection of battles we can play out, but be nice to see a option at some point that the winner of a selection of battles controls the planet. On a larger scale, that would mean that players would pick a planet to fight on next to control. Fighting on Hoth would be weather problems for troops without the right gear. Snow must slow down troops and lack of real hard cover. Fighting on planets that you are not ready for like swamps or jungles would have other effects, too much cover and no air support etc.

Not sure what happens in Rune wars about this....

Thanks for reading....

If there isn't any 'Narrative play' in the box you can bet the community will put something pretty decent together for this.

I'm sure we will see at some point a product the likes of Star Wars Armada "Corellian Conflict Campaign". It just makes sense, especially since it would offer an opportunity to expand mission's/objectives from the core starter set.

For sure... Heroes of the Aturi Cluster is the best example for the ingenuity of FFG's playerbase.

I wouldn't mind running a Legion based 'Galactic Conquest' thing (based on the Battlefront 2 Galactic Conquest thing where you'd move fleets around and such and have your planetary capital and fight for control of planets and can purchase special bonuses like an Extra Reserve of Troops or such)

If you want narrative play pull out your rebellion board. Each figure could represent a number of army points or a unit type. You keep a living list of your entire fighting force snd bring a portion of it with you when you go to battle.

Of course for this to work we will need a few more commanders for each side, unless you want to fudge the rules there too.
