Step 1: Remove Engines from K-Fighter
Step 2: Glue Engines to E-Wing
Step 3: Look good fighting the Empire

I set the engines back a bit to help streamline the e-wing.

Would be good if you painted them to match the existing scheme - the current grey makes them look a little "tacked-on".
Perhaps using a similar red on the engine cowling panels and either making the remaining light grey match the darker grey of the existing engines, or lighten the existing grey to match the new.

I am curious how it would have looked with the intakes being up level with the leading edge of the wing.

I messed with that. I wanted to have the back part of the engines trailing back a bit further. To make it a little longer basically. When it was flush it didnt look as "fast" if that makes any sense.
I'll eventually get around to painting it. Probably some combo of Grey/White/Orange.
Its absolutely just tacked on for now. Just ripped em off the K-Fighter and glued it to the E-Fighter.

Yeah, absolutely makes sense - further forward would no doubt look stubbier.
I wish they'd picked a more streamlined appearance from the get-go. Like the ones you can find on Shapeways...
The variant FFG printed doesn't make it look like the predecessor successor to the X-Wing, especially now that we have the more streamlined T-70 X-Wing.
As such:

Love the mod though! Can't wait to see it painted.

Erm... don't you mean successor?

Yes. I meant it should look like the successor to the X-Wing and meant to imply that it looks more like a predecessor...but my brain jumbled it all into one incorrect sentence ![]()
