[MAFIA] Sands of the New Republic - DAY 1

By Visovics, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Hey all, sorry for the delay. Here was my reasoning:

Woah, man. First you ask for a full role reveal and then you blast the guy making perfectly rational points? You're really out of character this game so far. I'm used to you being quiet and deliberate on day one.

But you're still out of character for your usual self. Broba is 100% right about the breadcrumbing. It doesn't really mean a damned thing, as last game showed. In retrospect I feel stupid for starting it. That's why I don't really get your read here.

Have I mentioned how much I hate day one?

Okay, he does a vote at CNinja and then things "clear up." This was a little odd, but misunderstandings happen

On 9/6/2017 at 0:43 PM, Truthiness said:

Oh wow, that snuck up. Ninja is my best read ATM. His behavior is way off from his usual. The problem is that it's way off from both his scum AND town usual, so I have no idea what to make of it.

And then here he kind of throws suspicion at CNinja, but then also sort of clears him, something really weird for Truthiness to do, IMO. Usually he analyzes, and then is like boom, this is the culprit, for good or for ill.

I'll stick to my read for now in case I get caught up before hammer.

I'm not even close to sold on it, though. This is off for day one Ninja, but typically for day 3+ Ninja. Just not used to seeing this level of aggression tight out of the game.e

I can be convinced to switch to Pod. His behavior is always erratic, but Gink has a point that he does magically appear to deflect every time some shade is thrown his way.

This again smacks of more half-hearted shade, IMO to show he isn't working with CNinja.

Maybe there's a cult?

Oh God, please not again...

THIS is the most telling. In response to my suspicion that there's a cult, he does exactly what I would do IF there was a cult. He just protests. Usually Truthiness offers some kind of analysis or consideration, but nothing but a cheeky onoes. That set off my radar.

On 9/10/2017 at 6:06 AM, Truthiness said:

Umm, ok. No idea what that was, but that worked out.

With your town allegiance proven, I'd say let's look pretty hard at the voters who went against you. Ovi, Broba, Oni, time for the microscope.

I think this may show that Norell is compromised. The cult leader "confirms" him as town. Adorable.

On 9/10/2017 at 8:34 AM, Truthiness said:

Yeah, it was town at first. I think Vis made a mistake. Based on that (which is probably a little bit of unfair meta analysis, but scum can suck it) Gink was probably recruited last night and didn't start the game as cult.

So we've got a cult, but someone is still offing people at night. I'm more confused that ever about why there was no kill during the first night.

"Scum can suck it" read to me as him protesting too much, in light of the other info.

On 9/8/2017 at 10:33 AM, CaribbeanNinja said:

And then Broba goes and does this... :)

Broba I'm sure all of our fishing expeditions were TOTALLY successful...

Unless they weren't. ;)

Why would we want scum to know either way?

On 9/8/2017 at 10:42 AM, Truthiness said:

Wow yeah, right after me pointing that there's next to zero way to verify the fishing results. I'm starting is see what you're talking about Ninja.

Here CNinja and Truth are sort of colluding.

SO. I thought CNinja and Truth were prime suspects since they pushed the hardest on a townie with a very powerful role. I thought CNinja was the most likely to by lynched, but I figure them both to be cult, so I shot the one that was the least lynchable. Glad we got both cult leaders, because that means no more recruiting (unless there are three? Doubtful, since I assume there were some town, but perhaps worth considering). The bad news is a lot of damage was already done in converting cult members. I can prove I am town still. If last game was anything to go by, anyone who joined the cult lost their role abilities. I suppose that could be different in this game, but with two cults, ****, that would be ridiculous. So, I am assuming if you join the cult, you probably lose your role. Well I have one shot left. I can use it, and prove I am still town.

Any reason we SHOULDN'T lynch Cninja?

Gink was still referred to as a Fisherman, albeit cult aligned.

Which would still put you and I at the risk of being cult aligned.

The only difference being, I can't shoot a Townie anymore.

Huh, that's a good catch, however wasn't he originally listed as TOWN? So is it possible @Visovics forgot to edit away his role?

Guys I can't sit back and watch this happen... the towns assumptions about the cults are way off...

killing the leader does nothing, the role of leader is passed onto the next longest living member

those who are converted keep their role

how do I know this...

becuase I am the Hutt clan cult leader

N1 I tried to recruit JJ... was told I couldn't recruit him

N2 I tried to recruit Truthi... was told he'd never join my cause... we all know what he flipped...

N3 I tried to recruit Caldias and once again was told I couldn't...

I can't win but I can bring the other cults down

This is the most out of whack unbalanced shiz imaginable...

Cal and JJ are culty... tonight i planned on recruiting Ninja... I doubt I'll live to do that though but he was next on my list of suspicion

Youre so naughty @TheToad

Do you have any idea what time it is here?

When does the game end?

Sorry Pure bloods looks like your stuck with me XD

Can My beloved Tayn still win?

@Drasnighta

why did you edit a post six hours ago?

trying to steal my modkill title?

WOW. So there are three cults? I really hope there aren't 4... I don't know why your attempt failed, but I am not a cultist. Nothing in my role dictates that I am immune, however. I suppose it's possible two cults tried to convert me at the same time? Only thing I can think of, since I'm still town. If you are telling the truth and the role is indeed passed down, then I fully expect to be nabbed tonight.

At any rate, you were kind enough to give me a reason not to vote for CNinja. If what you say is true, voting for you is still the safest bet, since it eliminates a cult.

I pushed the edit button by habit, and then thought I'd cancelled it. But apparently confirmed it with no changes.

Slow down @Caldias hes keep net for now. We need to be asking questions.

I don't see one vote as being hasty.

What questions? He just fully claimed to be a cult leader. According to his post, he has no second in command as his recruitments failed, so lynching him eliminates a cult. What possible question answers are going to change the fact that lynching him fully eliminates a cult from the game? We're already playing from behind, but if these cults have been tripping over each other, and maybe two or more targetting the same person, then maybe town still has a chance.

Only other thing is maybe he's a jester or something? But no amount of questions will make him go JK, I am a jester haha got you.

Yes but other cultists will lynch him to stop him spilling the beans.

Hes a town prisoner.

Hes likely recruited 2 better players. Sitting safe that Toad can sacrifice himself to boost his firms chances.

Hes just sold us a pack of half truths that we will waste the rest of the day sifting through, this will have all been scripted And part of @TheToad's sun tzu masterplan

I wouldnt be surprised if thats all we hear from him now tho.

I'm no fool... I'm cult and so are Cal and JJ... so yes you can lynch me and eliminate a known threat...(and the guy who kept this game from becoming a stymied quagmire of suck) or you can go after the guy who is trying to lead you to ruin

Fair, but I don't see anything he can say to change my vote. There are three scenarios:

1) He's telling the truth, is therefore a lone cult leader, and can easily be eliminated

2) He's lying, but is a cult leader, but did in fact successfully recruit some people, and is doing a gambit to throw shade elsewhere (unlikely, but possible). Maybe isn't a cult leader, but just a cultist. Still ok with eliminating him.

3) He's some weird crazy pants basket full of cats role, where he needs to get lynched (very unlikely)

Any of these and my vote would still go to him.

@TheToad

I assume the Quagmire of suck you refer to is me getting stonewalled for answers for the next 40 hours, getting told off for taking up all the airwaves?

Why such a pro town stance?

Whats the endgame condition for your victory?

@PodRacer

Shut up and vote.

@ everyone else.

Vote.

Why am I short like that?

I'll be honest. This is now well beyond where I want to be. There was absolutely 0 chance of a Town Victory with this, unless you make the specific assumption that Brobafett was immune to recruitment. In which case, the only person who could win for Town was Broba.

This now fundamentally fails my game criteria. This is no longer a game.

LIFE IS NOT FAIR. That is something that I, like so many people, painfully understand in my personal circumstances right now. That's a truth we cannot escape from.

But we try.

We try to, and the medium we generally choose to do so, is Games.

Because inherently, games are fair. Those involved have chances of winning. They may not be exactly equal chances, there may not be equitable. Games do not have to be symetrical - some of the best games are assymmetrical after all...

But a fundamental of a game is that it has to be fair, or there is no point in playing it.

And I won't be playing again.

Here's the problem with your plan. I know I'm still town, but for the sake of argument, let's say I am a cultist. I am not a cult leader. I proved that by showing I'm a vigilante when I killed Truthiness. You just claimed to be a cult leader, and those are the most important ones to take out (trust me, I know from last game). Do you fully expect us to just assume you won't go quietly recruiting people while pretending to "help" us?

@Drasnighta

Get a good sleep pal.

Il see whats what.

Wow, get back from work with Toad calling himself a Hutt and then that I'm a cultist? First off, I'm not cult. Secondly, we have two actions from credible sources that targeted TOWN broba, and came back with unusable results. In a game with 2 (is Toad actually claiming a 3rd?) cults, there is no way on earth they could all successfully recruit each night, Townies need some way to not be recruited, though I'm not entirely certain what Vis has up his sleeve to accomplish that.

There is no reason to keep you around though toad.

##vote TheToad

@CaribbeanNinja

still got your binoculars?

Sleep?

I don't get to sleep.

I get to work until 4am online doing transcriptions, and then have to be awake at 6am to be a full time dad of my kiddo until 6pm. Then its dinner and breakfast creation until 8pm when he goes to bed....... Then I start transcription work again.

Every. Day.

@Drasnighta

Count your blessings

@GhostofNobodyInParticular

Seems like alot of people got chosen over me. Maybe il be the last town standing?!

@TheToad Didnt want me =(

Am i not Fat enough to be a Hutt?

I Know your part of Ninjas clan =)

@PodRacer the quagmire of suck I refer to is the endgame we are going to face with 3 cults trying to lynch each other... I want no part of that suck fest which is why I brought the situation to light

ive already told you guys who I intend to target tonight if I live... Ninja... but I believe he's already been turned

why am I doing this? I have no alterior motive I win if my cult wins I've put aside my winning in order to give the town a chance because Dras is right... THERE WAS NO EFFING WAY town was going to win after tonight had I stayed quiet and I really didn't feel like watching the suck fest train wreck

im telling you guys... Cal and JJ ARE CULT they still have their powers from when they were converted and the leadership roles pass on to surviving cult members

So basically the town needs to decide whose koolaid to drink... the one that has the bitter taste of truth... (mine)or the one sweetened with lies(Cal and JJ's)

either way I win, I get the sweet release of death or town gets a chance to win this one

(Sorry guys just finished getting my @$$ whipped by Paindemic. What a stomping :))

Btw something else HAS to be in play here. How tf would 3 cults be balanced? I'm thinking that stuff has a random chance of failing? Maybe that's why Dras' shot and my inspection went awry?

I'm not cult...yet. I'm just a lowly fisherman. (Broba was true though, I did get two actions last night.)

@TheToadyou are sure the followers take over? Cause then it is even stupid-er. :)
