Not much new on the topic so my vote stays as I'm logging off. Maybe Ninja's trying a different approach, maybe he has a town role that requires him to be more active, or maybe he just has some insight I don't get, but so far he is my best bet, but for me, his behavior just doesn't add up.

Since this is me, I of course do not see what you guys are seeing.
However, what is super interesting is that I'm seen as "more active". That seems scummy to you? Wouldn't it be the other way around?

Its not the activity that people are noting as scummy, its a perceived deviation from established patterns of behavior.
I must go to bed now, and may not be available tomorrow before the Day ends.
My vote stands, for while I am unhappy with it, it is the best I have. I really don't see what you guys see in Pod.
Why punish players from varying up their playstyle? Changing patterns mid game...now that's suspicious. But using a different method doesn't make one scum.
Also, your "perceived deviation" isn't taking into account that Ninja's actions are swing away from how he played as scum.
Scumdar is pinging.

Strong scum feeling right now. Mad's play has been full of deflections, constantly asking others instead of putting himself out there. I think we need to turn up the heat right now!

You clearly havent read my thoughts on ninja. I posted them a few back. I was just answering his question.
JJ has got a decent point there... what say you @Madaghmire?
6 hours ago, Madaghmire said:Ninja is an interesting case. He's more active today then normal, but I don't want to punish activity. That said, uncharacteristic behavior is often a tell, although its also uncharacteristic of his scum play. I'm spinning my wheels on him. The snap vote of Broba was intriguing.
This was six hours ago, in case you miss the stamp. You are literally parroting things ive already said
I'm just going to sulk in the corner. Listen to JJ. Ignore Gink.
I see how it is.
(Though I support the case)
The time is going to run out while I am sleep so I think to cast a vote is my duty.
I don't think CNinja is scum. Or to be more precise he is not at the top of my list which is not better than Ghost's one.
Now I have to find a balance between who I think should be lynched and who is close to get lynched.
## vote Ghost
Reasons: almost everything could be read either way, scummy or townie. Reading the things as scummy as I can the most dangerous post came from him.
He didn't give reads. He brought the first killing plan. He made a list where scum like to hide mates through bluff, double bluff or even triple bluff.
@Ginkapo when you made your arguments against Mad we were just coming out of the joke phase of D1
JJ's point was made after more info has come to light now I'm gonna go look into his lead
didnt mean to hurt your feelings?
6 hours ago, Madaghmire said:Ok...just a few quick hits, not a comprehensive list;
So Gnips posted a mostly helpful summary of the game. But that was pretty much what I got out of it. A summary. But since I was playing catch up, thanks!
I feel pretty good about Gink, in that he's playing consistent with Gink.
Looking forward to hearing more from Dras, tho D1 is rough on a first time player so I'll give him a pass today.

Broba on the other hand, gave us a nice long nothing post, and he does paint us all as being snappy. I am always very wary when people attribute emotions and intent, especially where it isn't obvious or true, and I would contend this fits that bill. This could just be an honest assessment.
Pods being pod, but so far a bit more focused and restrained. Good steps. Gink makes a good point tho that he was quick to the call before breaking his silence, but I don't know if there's really much there.
Cal gave us absolutely nothing, except a cheeky "I'm here!" Hope the court date went well! (As I was writing this, he posted. Good luck with the toddler!)
Ovi has given me a lot to look at and I haven't sorted it out yet into anything coherent.
Truth I'm inclined to trust as the first person to the crumb pond, but I think thats lazy thinking, so I'm gonna need to give him another read.
When I'm able to read to Oni or JJ on day one, I'll let you know. Dont hold your breath.
This just all feels non-committal. Like scum unwilling to put pressure.
5 hours ago, Madaghmire said:Well, we want to know what you think. Do you feel like anyone is lying, or trying to obfuscate? Its super important to understand that none of this is personal, no matter how, uhm, snappy, people seem to be. Its just the game.
Theres a degree of meta play happening today, as we've all had a few games together and are starting to get a read on each other.
As far as people getting nicked for being quiet or active, its kind of a mixed thing. It is a common strategy for scum to lay low if they arent being actively questioned and forced to defend themselves, so hanging back is often interpreted as scum play. Of course, being active can be a double edged sword, because it gives people a chance to actually look at what you say and either honestly (if town) or deliberately (if scum) misinterpret it. But if you arent active, you can't really influence the game, and risk being tagged for scum-marining whether you are or not.
That said, day one is hard, especially game one day one. So as far as I'm concerned, you are getting a pass on what I would normally tag people for while you aclimate yourself.
This seems partially like Mad going #meta, but also like trying to pull in "good guy" cred.
5 hours ago, Madaghmire said:He's due guys.
This is how you plant tiny seeds for later game suspicion.
5 hours ago, Madaghmire said:You've been scum a lot, and it colors perception for sure.
That said, this is really defensive. And not really borne out by like...facts. Have you ever been lynched, champ? Because I don't remember you ever meeting Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Seems, uhm, disingenuous to complain about something that hasn't harmed you.
Of course people are suspicious of you. Everyone is suspicious of everyone.
Not a good way to justify suspicion.
5 hours ago, Madaghmire said:I mean, I can just as easily not give you a pass if you're insulted, I think you know that wasn't my intent or a lack of respect for your gamer prowess. I totally feel that and I know I don't want people going easy on me when I learn a game.
Lol I know dude it was a joke.
Backpedaling.
3 hours ago, Madaghmire said:I'd like to hear from JJ at some point before I cast a vote. I think hes had a post that more or less amounted to "I'm listening".
Pod has three votes atm, which given 8 to lynch isn't really so much pressure. I'm not sure Ginks assessment of his play is the right conclusion yet (although I dont expect I'll have the luxury of being sure on any vote) because I think Pod has been trying to modify his play some. Not like, a lot. But some. And if he is town, and you can filter the white noise, and also you imbibe juuuuuuust the right amount of whiskey, and also its the solstice, you'll find he's often got solid reads. How the **** he gets there is anyone's guess.
@GhostofNobodyInParticular How do you feel about lynching pod vs cninja/broba? You mentioned they were your best reads, but what are your thoughts on this chugga-chew? I'm curious.
Then trying to buddy up to me, feels like a scum trying to get away from my suspicions by seeming friendly.

I mean, if you try hard enough you'll see what you want to.
Yeah, by any days logic except the first that was pretty flimsy. But alas it's the first day. I sit on the fence till the last on D1, but I will get my vote in. Right now I am leaning Pod, but that is mostly because of his willingness to vote first and question later which I dislike and he has already done to me today.
I could see Mad and ovinomancer being scum, as I could see Cninj, but they are more dark horses along with Ginkapo (who I always think is scum, even when he isn't, so I don't make a big deal of it) and then we have all our inactives.
My feelings on ovino are that Ghost told us he was logging off and ovino immediately voted for him. I get that the day has to end sometime that is probably middle of the night for someone, but it just sucks to do a D1 lynch without him at least getting to try and warn us off just doesn't seem right when he hasn't been the worst of the day.

Yea Ovis vote draws a little more suspicion when you consider that it was a follow vote after JJ
Edit: JJ had just unvoted Nippy before Ovi voted sorry
Fair enough.
I started to write almost at the same time. I stopped cause RL reasons and then continued.
Then I read him but I don't care too much. Not cause I enjoyed lynching without a chance to defense, I don't. But that makes him invulnerable as it is known that we don't start to vote seriously until he go to sleep and has no much sense. And I am not going to be here to hear the defense even if he could defend himself so this doesn't really interfere with my vote, just with yours if you are going to be around. I mean if I voted Dras I was not going to hear his defense until it was late anyway. I voted based on what I read until now not on what I could read after the vote. At d1 is harder to me to get something better. Sorry.
I agree with you Ovi... unfortunately when you got a game group spanning several time zones this happens... I'm willing to call bad timing on your part
