[MAFIA] Sands of the New Republic - DAY 1

What about @GhostofNobodyInParticular. You had some good thoughts, I'd love to see you step up and put a vote somewhere and explain it. It's d1, doesn't have to be a great explanation, but if it's voting time I'd like to see where your mind is it.

Also @ImperialCaptain2017 maybe you want to put a vote in? Same deal as with NIPs, doesn't have to be solid gold, but I think it would be valuable to see who has earned your vote so far before you get another easy follow.

The only two people that really attracted my attention as of yet are you and CNinja. Everybody else appears to be acting normal. Of those two people, I am not even 50% sure of either. You both make good points.

However, as a vote is necessary, I shall

as being the one to feel the most 'off' to me. If he comes up town, I shall be severely saddened, but I fear I have no choice.

Oh wow, that snuck up. Ninja is my best read ATM. His behavior is way off from his usual. The problem is that it's way off from both his scum AND town usual, so I have no idea what to make of it.

3rd faction maybe?

Ok - 13 hours left is getting late. I intended to find another vote target to apply pressure on (that often happens for me as I verbalize my suspicions; the act of writing a post helps clarify things in my headspace), but I got distracted by responding to a bunch of other posts and then got called away by parenting duties.

We need some real pressure here, though. Even though the deflection onto other targets is business as usual for pod, it's not a good thing by any means.

## vote Pod

@Ginkapo

Rough day? im sorry i dont follow your angling?

@ovinomanc3r

I do admire an honest third party.

Looks like the Pod train is leaving the station... at least it'll stop him from muddying things later

im not quite ready to cast my vote though looks like we got 2 people with multiple votes

both are people Gink started the heat on...

I need to think on this

When I am the only one starting heat its hardly surprising is it.

No argument here Gink, once again I appreciate your ability to get the ball rolling

I just don't want to see a blind bandwagon happen

Edit: to clarify

in our last game the voting records were made unreliable because of last minute bandwagons under the threat of a no lynch

id like to avoid that this time

@Norell

you know who you are voting for?

I'd like to hear from JJ at some point before I cast a vote. I think hes had a post that more or less amounted to "I'm listening".

Pod has three votes atm, which given 8 to lynch isn't really so much pressure. I'm not sure Ginks assessment of his play is the right conclusion yet (although I dont expect I'll have the luxury of being sure on any vote) because I think Pod has been trying to modify his play some. Not like, a lot. But some. And if he is town, and you can filter the white noise, and also you imbibe juuuuuuust the right amount of whiskey, and also its the solstice, you'll find he's often got solid reads. How the **** he gets there is anyone's guess.

@GhostofNobodyInParticular How do you feel about lynching pod vs cninja/broba? You mentioned they were your best reads, but what are your thoughts on this chugga-chew? I'm curious.

Honestly Pod seems to still be his usual Day 1 Pod. I feel uncomfortable voting him now, as my gut is telling me that there is nothing new with regards to his behavior, except that it is a bit more restrained - and he told us he would be trying to be so. I think Gink is mistaken in his read, for Pod always deflects, even when town (though we only have town to go by so far), and is often quiet in the beginning of Day 1.

Granted, I could be wrong, but something is telling me that voting Pod is a mistake based on the current arguments.

I am sure we will see this conversation explode at any minute.

I think Cninj got a wrong read on me, and then I spiraled a bit on it because I was in a piss poor mood and made it worse. I don't think Cninj warrants a vote yet, and I myself would like to argue neither do I.

I am ok with a Pod lynch, but he has made so much more sense this game, been way less cryptic, been pretty nice all in all which is such a huge departure I just can't imagine that it would be a good thing for us to punish pod for doing what we have been IMPLORING him to do for multiple games.

Could this nicer clearer Pod be scumpod? Sure. Could it also be scum gink trying to eliminate someone who pushing examination and typically has a good nose from the game early based off an alterated play pattern which is just him doing as we all have been begging him to do? The thought crossed my mind. Could it be well meaning Gink pointing out an inconsistency and pushing it cause we just don't have many good leads? Also entirely possible. But one of these things is the truth, so if we do end up lynching pod let's at least make sure to get good information from it.

Sorry guys I have a pretty hectic evening. I don't think Pod is scum, he's just Pod, but maybe just a more experienced Pod who talks less. So I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt for now.

I am more uneasy about CNinja and I can't say it's not partly because he's so active and usually he is mostly silent. I'll try to be around in the next few hours but until then

##vote CNinja

I believe that might put ninja at three as well?

I'll stick to my read for now in case I get caught up before hammer.

##vote CaribbeanNinja

I'm not even close to sold on it, though. This is off for day one Ninja, but typically for day 3+ Ninja. Just not used to seeing this level of aggression tight out of the game.e

I can be convinced to switch to Pod. His behavior is always erratic, but Gink has a point that he does magically appear to deflect every time some shade is thrown his way.

Alright, I should be active enough the next few hours.

I'll give thoughts on other people later, but for the people with heat on them right now.

Ninja is playing differently, much more active than I have seen him in the past. However this is opposite to how his scum play usually is. I'm not willing to hang him for a change in play, especially one that fits his town play better.

Pod is in a similar situation for me. We all wanted him to tone down his play, and now we blame him when he does? I'm going to leave pod alone for now.

My current suspicions lie with GNiPs. His wall of text definitely didn't contribute much more than a giant "I don't have reads". Well if you don't have a read, maybe wait a bit and observe until you do? Some of his posts do read town, but he is my best read currently.

##vote GNiPs

Also, looking back through the players, @ImperialCaptain2017 you've been quiet for quite some time. Your thoughts?

I pinged him a bit back, probably working, but now it's too late to get original thoughts from him, its likely going to be a follow on Pod or Cninj.

Broba reads potentially scummy to me, but his defenses have been more, well, defensive in nature than the redirecting I have tended to see from his scum play.

Dras reads solid town to me. I could be wrong since I haven't played with him before, but if he is scum, he is doing a **** fine job.

No current reads on the others.

Oh interesting. Slippy Nippy gets a vote. I'm not sure he had any others.

I would've, but Imp Cap asked for my thoughts. You know how I hate posting or voting without a solid base. I don't do these things lightly, but I also don't ignore requests for input, however poor that input may be.

I liked your list @GhostofNobodyInParticular =)

if you got it, flaunt it =)

Gentleman, I am playing some Arkham horror after work but will be on after that. I do apologize for the lack of input, due to business at work and home. But I will do my best to puzzle this stuff out once I get home. If I am lynched, I regret only nothing.

@JJs Juggernaut

shouldnt we read imp caps list before we make hasty judgements?
