Agreed. There's not even that much to talk about in the Discord channel besides sharing terrain and videos and talking unit ideas. It'd be nice to get a slight spoiler once a week

As an IA player, I find this hilarious.

Why's that? Do they never give info on IA or anything? XD
What's it been, 2-3 weeks since GenCon and the announcement? I wouldn't expect anything for a while .

Look for the time between IA or Amarda articles, heck even runwars is a lot less than fortnightly. You may see some regular info trickle out closer to release, but with launch being over 6 months away they're going to run slient for a bit yet, barring the odd rules explanation article.
Edited by RalgonOn one hand, thanks for letting us know so early so I can plan my Christmas purchases
On the other hand, NEED MORE INFO NOW. lol I'm so impatient.
I'd like an in depth look at measurements and scale so the terrain building can commence. Things like jump height, the apropriate size for wreckage.
Yeah i'd like the rules to be released to know exactly how and what terrain should we work on.
Given that Rune Wars had a similar announcement at GenCon 2016 and a similar projected release (1Q17), I wouldn't expect anything new until near the end of October. And that will probably be just a design article with no really new info. Once January gets here, we should start seeing some good information on gameplay, OP, and Wave 1 releases.
It would make sense to get this out before X-Mass. That being said I would be surprised if they did. Still it would be nice to see what direction they plan on going and if they are going to keep the scale correct.

Yea, I really don't understand the logic of hyping something 6 months away. I mean, I get it, Gen Con or whatever it's called is a large audience but they would have achieved saturation no matter what and been able to do it with only a 3 month lead time. It's the whole "hurry up and wait" dynamic. Yippee!
6 months??
X-wing was announced over two years before release and had demos done with pogs at one GenCon, and then test models at the following GenCon before being released at the third GenCon.
They like to make a big game announcement there. It generates quick excitement and gets people talking.
I'm not expecting the game to release before mid-March. So we are just entering the large desert if no information. We will probably see a small oasis around the end of Oct or early Nov and then another stretch until sometime in Jan.
If it follows what happened with Runewars we will not see much until February 2018 and orders shipped in March.

It's a trade show, it's where these things do get announced. If it was a movie or video game noone would bat an eyelid about it.........
What i don't get is when these thing turn to crowdfunded models and people lose their minds over no news in like 2 weeks, and then wonder why or call them incompetent because there's cost blowouts in the effort required trying to keep them happy.
They're not going to release anything until they're actually ready to, and when it makes the most sense for reasons of marketing.
That means they won't start the hypetrain until much closer to release, because if they started it now, it would be out of steam 3 months before the game is actually released.
Proper hype will start around the release of The Last Jedi I'd imagine, to catch the wave of Star Wars fan fever.
probably the only time youre going to see more than a reveal 6months before release is if theyre doing more than just the core at release. Even then you probably wouldnt see it till around 3months at the minimum.
Which i hope they do release the standalones same time as the core. That irritated me something fierce in RWM that i had to wait so bloody long to get the standalone boxes for the units in the core box.

On the other hand it did give those of us with a more restrictive income the time to pick our faction and save up the money.
