as much as i really want to have a generic commander of my own rebel cell, i agree that this is more likely.

But they are unpainted models so nothing is stopping us from taking Lt Bob, paining a beard on him and just calling him something completely different.

Im sure people will have all sorts of colourful and crazy looking stormtroopers in no time

Given the evidence of past ffg efforts, best guess is no. That said, i fully expect other commands in wave 1-2. The price descrepancy between vader and luke (reported at around 60 points, or a mildy upgraded extra squad from what has been leaked around) is pretty big to be left that way for too long without options.

That said, previously ffg commanders tend to have a flavor/stratergy effect across the battle group rather than being solo "deathstars"(pardon the pun) as seen in other games, so it should be rather interesting to see how they handle it here.

The problem with generic commanders is that liscenced games, especially Star Wars, need the name recognition of established characters. Mainly for new people to the hobby, which many gamers forget about.

So, I would expect General Veers, Emperor Palpatine, Thrawn, or Agent Kallus.

Rebel side we will get Han, and Leia, maybe even Luke in His Return of the Jedi outfit.

Right but who the heck knew who Kayn Somos was they pulled him out of their rear ends, nothing wrong with a low point "Stormtrooper Officer" to save points instead of a "Kayn Somos" costing 100 points.

I'll say this, I will have to read the rules in full before I purchase this, if I like the rules I can see I will be house ruling a ton of characters into the game ( I will most certainly NOT! Play this competively heck no)
