Krennic in Wave 7?

Yes. But that doesn't mean it can't happen. We've never before had an Expansion Pack with a repaint. We've never had an Expansion Pack with both a ship and squadrons. We've also had an Expansion Pack with no Commander. So one Commander per Expansion Pack isn't absolute. But yes - I'll give you that this weighs against there being a second Commander.

You mean other than in the spread , where there is a second Commander shown? That's a pretty good indication for their being a second Commander, at least to me. The alternative is that someone at FFG decided to put in the wrong card image. Which could happen. But those images have to be chosen individually and carefully positioned (deciding which ones to show faceup, how much to show, which to put facedown, which to hide completely) - and I really, really hope someone at FFG didn't just screw up there.

I think that there likely to be a second Commander based on the image. I don't think that requires a misprint in the article (as set out above), but even if it was it isn't exactly unknown for the articles to have some mistakes in them. For example:

That seems to be an error in that you couldn't bring in both those ships from the CR90; Garel's Honor would have to deploy from the Profundity. But that's another issue.

As to why Krennic for the second Commander; I think he is the most obvious remaining choice (unless there is an obvious Rebels Commander - I'm not too familiar with Rebels), given the theme of the Pack.

Yes, the same arguments against him being an Officer apply, except I'm assuming that there is a second Commander, whereas him being an Officer means that mystery card must be an Officer and must be him.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out there wasn't a second Commander - just a little disappointed in FFG. I'd also be happy if that second Commander was someone else. I just think that Krennic is a reasonable option.

I assure you it's a mistake. There will not be two commanders in the set. Would you be willing to make a bet? I'll bet you a chimaera expansion that Thrawn will be the only new commander in the chimaera box.

I try not to gamble on principle. And... I don't really care either way, it's more of a curiosity than anything else.

I will eat an ISD if Krennic is an imperial commander in Wave 7.

If this happens, I want you to record it, and not lose the recording this time around ;)

As the Chimaera pack seems to be heavily Rebels focused, the possible second commander is likely to be a new variant of Tarkin. He is considered to be overcosted yet he plays a very prominent role in the show. It also wouldn't be a misprint in the marketing as he would not be a new commander. Vader is still used regularly and indeed as others have pointed out, this set is designed to be used in conjunction with the ISD pack.

The Chimaera expansion is heavily influenced by Rebels , but not exclusively as the pack contains the Vader Boarding Party and Intensify (Forward) Firepower which hail from RO/ANH and ROTJ respectively. And, as others have already pointed out, the release is unique in that we're dealing with a repaint, the inclusion of two squadrons, refit cards for ISDs, and a selection of upgrade cards which isn't exactly the norm for Armada expansions. So, a second commander is definitely not impossible.

We already have Vader and Tarkin. Krennic would complete the big Imperial three from RO. Also, if FFG decides to release a RO inspired campaign for Armada, having Krennic with Vader and Tarkin would keep the campaign thematic.

So, my money is on Krennic until a more likely commander candidate appears.

Someone mentioned repraints never happened before. To Me, chimera looks Luke an expansion similar to x-Wings Imperial veterans/aces and similar expansions: New colour scheme, 'patch' to old contents. So might be New to armada, but isnt unprecedented in other ffg Games. Still, krennic is highly unlikely to be involved any time soon in my opinion.

Next probability: there is a second commander, and it's someone related to Thrawn, like Pellaeon.

Captain Pellaeon

Officer

"When your flagship is destroyed, if Thrawn was the commander, you may move all unused command dials from Thrawn's card to this card and continue Thrawn's effect until the end of the next ship phase".

Kinda counts as a second commander? lol

More likey:

"If you commander is discarded you may end the game. For deciding the winner, count one of your destroyed ships as not destroyed."

If the Thrawn Novel is anything to go by the female captain will be Captain Faro, then Governor Pryce, Taskmaster Grint and Instructor Goran, mostly from Rebels and tied to Thrawn in someway (Faro is Captain of the Chimera, Pryce and Thrawn helped eachother to their respective positions, Grint im not sure about and Goran went to skystrike academy, a place Thrawn sent his adversaries in the imperial academy to). If there is another character itl be Eli Vanto who helped Thrawn become Grand Admiral, itl doubtfully be Krenic.

I for one dont think we will get 2 commanders, I think its just a mistake but we certainly aint seen all the cards on offer in the pack
