Now that we are seeing different versions of the same characters with the new two player set, It is clear that we will be getting different versions of the same characters in the future. Because of that, the rules should allow us to play two different versions of the same character at the same time, with one added element: you get to activate two of the same character at once. For instance, I only have one copy of Poe (from awakenings). I'm thinking that we should be allowed to play with both versions of Poe with each of their dice and roll both dice at the same time--essentially making that character 'elite'.
As far as points go, they could make it so, if you want to include two versions of the same character as if that character is elite, the cost of playing both should be whichever copy of that character has the higher 'elite' cost. For instance, I could play my Awakenings Poe with the new set's Poe together for 18 points as opposed to the 15 point cost of the new Poe.
This would really help address the criticism people have of "needing to have two copies of each character if you want to play that character with two dice". It would mean that, going forward, we wouldn't have to search for an extra copy of a new version of each new version of a character that we see in the game going forward. And, at the moment, it would mean that I both don't have to acquire another awakenings Poe (which I have been considering) and I wouldn't have to get a second box of the new 2 player box to use the new Poe as elite.
It would also make things interesting as we would have a bigger variety of combinations of dice that activate at the same time which would really let us get creative.
I'm thinking I'm going to make this a house rule, at the very least.
