Is this two players box set thing the "core set" ffg was talking about? If it is I think it is exactly what we needed. No need to hunt down two copies to be able to play and it actually has some good cards in it. Thoughts?

No, it's not. This was just a supplementary product. The core sets will be full booster pack expansions.

I reckon the core set wil contain the best utility cards they want to keep in the game (assuming there's ever a rotation) as well as some reprints of characters that don't warrant a second version i.e., Troopers, possibly Jango, etc.
