Heroes, Allies, and you.

By LugWrench, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

I need some clarification on allies. I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere.

During a players activation, if that player has both a hero and an ally, do they select which to activate as their activation? I know that activations follow a specific pattern (rebel, imperial, rebel, imperial, etc.), but does the player choose between activating their hero, or the ally, as their activation for that round? Can they activate the ally (or hero), then later in the round, activate the hero (or ally)?

In the campaign each hero is a rebel group. If the heroes have taken an ally to the mission, it is a rebel group. If the mission provides an ally, it is also a rebel group.

When it is rebel turn to activate, you choose one ready rebel group to activate. If there are no ready rebel groups to activate, the turn to activate passes to the imperial side.

I.e. every group must activate, but you decide the order. It doesn't matter that some groups are heroes and some are not.

(Also, to make it clear: there is no "player's activation". There is no fixed order other than alternating the activations of the rebel and imperial sides.)
