I got my Latari Elves expansion last night and it came with 20 archer miniatures, but only four bases. Can I assume this was just a QC issue?

Score! The infantry command expansion comes with a tray, so you can play with your extras.

Absolutely an error, you are gonna have to send them to me and I'll take care of quality management.

Congrats on a error in your favor. Most definetly keep them and get them painted up and use them. As someone said, after a while bases are cheap, you will have more than you know what to do with.

Its suppose to have 16, so you got lucky.

Command upgrade comes with a tray though (for some reason) so you might find a use at some point for them all.

An extra tray of infantry can definitely come in handy, because the 3x3 uses an odd number of trays and normally you can only buy them in even numbers.

Right!! Unfortunately there are no odd number configurations of Derpwoods, but if you add Aymhelin Scion to the back row, then all of a sudden you can field an extra 2x1.

Because if you used all your infantry and the 4 figures you would need the tray. As I've magnetted and based all my trays, a lot of future trays will be 'extra' and unused.

Forgot that the elves have a hero that let them have a second champion. Two of the four command upgrade models are champions.

Still an extra champ.
Normal champ could be the non-spellcaster model so you could use all 4 in 1 unit.

Daqans/waiqar have to decide if they want the sergeant guy or the wizard/necro.

Thing is they don't exactly have a lot of overlap so it isn't an actual decision point. Putting all your eggs in 1 basket is silly as well.
