BB-9E

By Jadotch, in X-Wing

So I am fairly sure Imperials will get their own astromech slot soon.

I hoped for the Silencer to have an astromech slot, but who knows.

I wouldn't speak so assuredly. I very severely doubt that droid actually ends up plugging into a FO ship. If it does arrive in the game, it'll probably be as a crew card.

They won't get a astromech slot, they will get some kind of alternate unique upgrade the same way the Scum faction did. And as Raxgriz25thinf said don't expect it to even be a thing unless we see them being put into a droid socket.

Thats what I kind of meant and "Imperial Astromech" slot.

Astromech Refit

Zero point modification.

Imperial Only. (Not Limited, Not Unique)

You may equip 1 [Astromech] or [salvaged astromech] or [crew that is a droid] to your ship regardless of faction restrictions. Reduce the cost of equipped "rebel only" or "scum only" droids by 1. You may equip a second modification to this ship.

This will bring balance to the force.

Why yes, I would like to put BB-8 on Duchess.

R2-D2 on Omega Leader.

Let's be honest that's an OP as **** card.

The problem with a new astromech slot is no ships supporting it. ****, there's barely anything that supports scum astromechs (it's just that the OP ship has a slot for em). Crew slot may make more sense. And would let me stick these on phantoms. Though yeah, a retrofit mod would work...

No more OP than fsr or Nym Dengar Miranda. ;)

Unhinged Astromech on TIE/sf.

Honestly, that would be a REALLY fun card, just...

R2-D6 on Wampa? Add Calculation. Get evil.

R4-B11 on Vessery.

Omega Leader nothing! QuickDraw just got a whole lot more interesting.

R2 astromech would be awesome on a lot of ships too. Advanceds would love it.

Naw. Just keep droids crew for imps. Jumping Palpatine on a pogo stick, do we need 'em.... Unless y'all are big fans of Kylo till you die.

I totally see BB-9E (E for EVIL) as a crew upgrade. But why does it always have to be white vs black? BB-8 isn't just white, he's a ginger! Racist droids....

Eta-2 with Vader still needs to be a thing, even if it takes a title to make a 'non-unique' astromech slot, and astromech upgrades with 'Imperial only' listed on their cards.

R2D2 on TIE/D Countess Ryad.

Bio's wet dream. Regen defenders

r2d2 on ryad...thats just wrong...
*insert Thats My Fetish meme*

On a more serious note i hope the imperial droids are just crew. For one, it would open up some of our ships having a random crew slot (which, btw, Phantom is the ONLY TIE with a crew that can still fight worth crap, and one of two single-crew ships while the other is utter crap [firespray]) and for another imperials just dont use droids that way so why would they have a random tie model with a droid slot?

You may equip 1 [Astromech] or [ salvaged astromech ] or [crew that is a droid] to your ship regardless of faction restrictions. Reduce the cost of equipped "rebel only" or "scum only" droids by 1. You may equip a second modification to this ship.

Astromechs don't HAVE faction restrictions. None of the astromech droids are "Rebel Only", and none of the salvaged astromechs are "Scum only". The lack of factoin restrictions may well be why scum didn't simply get an astromech slot in the first place. Not that they couldn't errata all of the unique droids to be rebel only, but...

Droid comes with the lego silencer.... there is a chance.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, lego set numbers 7961, 9499, 75017, 7661, 8088, 75041, 7146, 7263, 9492, 9495, 75003, 75150, 75175 all have minifigures that have no reason to be in the set (or are only tangentially related to them.) I may have missed some, but please note 9492: it comes with R5-J2, and it definitely does not mean that TIE fighters have droid slots.

Why not they just release a new upgrade slot with an icon of an r4 astromech head (not thematic, but what else?), and also release Imperial v-wing, ARC-170, and whatever else has an astromech that is imperial.

Actually...I think you just covered it.

There's a reason the Empire doesn't have a droid slot already. :P

R2D2 on Quickdraw!

"...BB astromech units of their own that keep their starships and machinery operational."

This (brief) databank entry suggests BB-9E is used for maintenance like GCW era Imperial astromechs.

What? Astromech droids doing mechanical upkeep on starfighters? Next thing you'll tell me that protocol droids were made to facilitate social interactions like human-cyborg relations and peace negotiations.
