Also, Ancient Lightsaber is going to be one of my favorite cards ever -too bad it's a legendary! It'll probably be worth at least $40 on the secondhand market...

Ancient Lightsaber with Saber pull will be lots of fun to mess with.

Reaping the crystal seems okay, a free, one time version of binds all things will be nice for Jedi Council and the like.

Bestow should be free to play or have ambush, your already wasting an action moving an upgrade... Almost useless with Lightsaber and now Reys Lightsaber since they redeploy. I'd rather have Funeral Pyre out and waiting, then scrambling to move things around with Bestow.

someone fill me in..why is Ancient Lightsaber legendary? Why is it even good? I get the cute trick with Lightsaber Pull but you basically pay 2 to play it and then you lose it. You're using 2 cards and 2 resources to heal 2 damage..

Ancient Lightsaber is not only a decent weapon (especially for a character whose character dice have Melee plus sides) but it is essentially a 2 damage "heal on demand". Lightsaber Pull lets you recur the card. Being able to heal 2 damage with an Action can be critical versus a lot of aggro decks.

Rarity and gameplay don't always align. Not every legendary is powerful, and not every powerful card is legendary.

That said, Ancient Lightsaber is pretty good. It has a decent die for the cost (three damage sides, one of which is a +3, only one blank and no resource costs on any side). You can use the action to protect against damage (by healing) or mill (by dropping a card into your deck, especially if you are down to no other cards). It won't necessarily be the game changer Force Speed was, but it is a solid card which should see play.

Edit: Also, you can wait and use the action late in a round, after rolling in an resolving the die. So you should get at least one use of the die in addition to the healing, unless you are in a clutch situation where you have to heal right now.

Not only can Bestow keep your weapon around if a character is about to die, Bestow lets you use the upgrade twice in one turn. That's its real benefit and why it justifies the 1 cost.

That was my thought too!

Also, funeral pyre is my favorite card. Jedi are always giving things away!

Ancient Lighsaber is okay, though the dice is pretty bad except for the +3. The on demand heal is nice, but I think you really need to be getting value out of both sides of the card to make it worth the cost (i.e. 1 cost for the upgrade and 1 cost for a Field Medic).

Bestow will open up some jank, and I think maybe you should play K2-SO with this? Otherwise it's pretty meh. I guess it's potentially okay for getting double use out of an upgrade, but since you would want it to be something big anyway, that's requiring a fair amount of resources and specific cards coming together. Better with Padawans.

Funeral Pyre, so...gives weapons Redeploy. Feels too situational in most cases. Again Padawans are probably the best use for this, load them up and give your opponent some nasty choices about killing them.

Reaping the Crystal: + 1 resource card that only works on big stuff. Whatever. I'd like to see them take a bit more of a chance on the resource side of things with events.

Fearless is very expensive, and yeah, the only way I can see it being playable is maybe with Ashoka.

Not just weapons - all upgrades redeploy.

Ancient lightsaber being a legendary makes me sad, because it is the first Blue card with a die that I have seen this set that heroes have access to that I am excited about. The rest of the cards range from great to meh. I really like reaping the crystal fearless is one more thing that makes Luke Launch bay bonkers and Pier + Reaping the crystal makes SO MANY blue upgrades more playable on the hero side of things. Force throw on ezra oh he has 7 health that's ok it will just redeploy now.

You can Reap or It Binds to make it cheaper.

On Qui-Gon it's almost automatic damage whenever he's activated, and (unless I'm misremembering something) it's guaranteed damage with NuRey.

Spot on on all of it except using reap the crystal to get out Fearless for cheaper, reap only works on 3 cost and over blue cards other then that ya I think Fearless will see play in some decks it may even see play in a deck with K2 since you cant put weapons on him but can still put abilities on him drawing a card allows him to get an extra reroll if need be when you do get his once a game reactivate though likely you play Makashi on him, then play something on Rey and then use bestow to move it over to him after you resolve all the dice and reset him to go again.
