Thweekbox Hero! (Starvipers for his guys!) - a squad list.

By GLEXOR, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I just flew this list last night and came up with a classic rock reference name for it. This list was designed entirely with my limited collection + proxy guns for hire. Here it is.

Dalan Oberos-(30

Veteran Instincts-(1

Autothrusters-(2

Starviper Mk II-(-3

Ship Total: 30

"Thweek"-(28

Autothrusters-(2

Starviper Mk II-(-3

•Virago-(1

Advanced Sensors-(3

Inertial Dampeners-(1

Ship Total: 32

Captain Jostero-(24

Predator-(2

Harpoon Missiles-(3

Vaksai-(0

Guidance Chimps-(0

Vectored Trusters-(1

Engine Upgrade-(3

Ship Total-(34

List Total: 96

The idea behind the Thweek is to steal your opponents highest pilot skill, then he becomes the best ark dodger in the business.

Dalan Oberos may or may not get changed to Guri because I hardly ever got modified shots on my opponent, but no one was shooting at all! My opponent had Fenn Rau, FCS Thweek, and Talonbane Cobra.

I would have put Autothrusters instead of VT on Jostero, but I only own one Starviper expansion, and the original purpose of this list was to be something competitive that only needs one new purchase.

I guess this squad is ok, since there was not any positive, nor negative feedback.

I'll be trying out Thweek for the first time this next week. I'm more interested in his ability to steal pilot abilities, so I'm thinking FCS will be nearly auto-include on him for when he faces Dengar or Corran or Omega Leader. I'm trying to remember to always include at least a 1 point bid so he can become an arc dodger if that's best. My list building attempts with Captain Jostero all end up with nearly the entire list revolving around his ability. Same thing with Harpoon Missiles. I'm guessing that triggering the Harpoon condition on the same turn you shoot them is key as otherwise your opponent will fly the Harpooned ship at you and you'll also be taking splash damage. Kihraxz or Scurrg with missiles and guidance chips give guaranteed crits. So do Mangler canon Scyks.

This Starviper list doesn't have FCS on Thweek, but it's more about pure efficiency. I have flown Guri a few times so far and the curved barrel roll is absolutely amazing.

Here's a random Jostero Harpoon list I put together as well.

My person feelings is to keep Thweek as lean as possible since he's totally list dependent (mkII title and FCS only) I faced Ventress and two generics Y's. Her ability is Shadow Caster specific so no mimic, ditto w/ generic Y's. So I shadowed her PS. Meh. I say save those points for Adv Sensors on Oberos. His ability w/ title! Flew him w/ intensity +both titles+Adv Sensors. Adv Sensors-BR->get focus or evade-> reveal red or do his special talon. Think I had ATs on him too.

But like you I've got limited stash of Scum, not going on much but Guns and Most wanted.
