Reload, what would happen?

By Fort Defender, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So let's say that you put extra munitions on the new M-12 L fighter. You have one missile on your ship. You spend the munitions token and the card. When you reload, do you get a new token on that card?

No the token is not a card. Its a form of currency you spend when you trigger the text on the extra munitions card nothing more. You can't reload a discarded weapon if that weapon isn't discarded.

If you spend the token then reload nothing happens other than you disable your weapons for no reason.

If you spend the token then spend the card then reload you get the card back but that's it. The tokens are only applied during list building/setup.

Extra Munitions adds munitions tokens "when you equip this card", so it isn't affected by the reload action.

Something I'm not sure about - What if I have a Harpoon Missile /w an ordnance token, and then discard the Harpoon Missile (rather than the token). When I reload the Harpoon Missile, is the ordnance token still on the card? I don't think we have any rulings about what happens to tokens on cards when the card is discarded.

Why discard the card instead of the token? I know EM says 'may discard token instead' but still...

its been possible for Fett to discard cards like Moldy Crow and Gonk with focus or shield tokens on them, but nothing about what to do with the tokens or what happens if those cards are somehow turned back over.

If the card is effectively "removed from play" then anything associated with that card should fall off. When they're face down your munitions tokens wouldn't know what to do anyway.

what if it's clear you're not going to get arc easily in the next round? If the token stays, it's more advantageous to use the card, reload it and still have consecutive rounds of fire for better positioning.

If not, EM really devalues it's points somewhat unless you can pull off a double ordnance shot in the 1st 2 consecutive firing rounds or you really need that action elsewhere.
