Rise of the Empire is available now!

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Rebellion

I'll be picking mine up this afternoon. You're 100% correct that the updated combat alone is reason enough to buy it. Everything else is extra content which is good but I'm not nearly as excited about any of it as I am for the combat.

I have it on pre-order, but I have yet to get 'the call'. I may swing by there this evening, just on the off-chance that it's sitting in the bucket without them having made 'the call' yet.

Of course, I could just as easily pick it up tomorrow, when I'll be going there anyway just to see what they have for us on Force Friday. (I'll be annoyed if it's just some Destiny thing.)

Well, on the bright side you just saved $30 :)

I picked up my copy of the expansion this afternoon. It combines with the base game pretty seamlessly, although it adds a little bit of extra setup time. You have to build the Objective deck now instead of just using all of the cards, and each player can choose whether to use the old Mission deck or the new one, which seems kind of weird thematically because you can have the Rebels playing Rogue One-era stuff while the Imperials are in the future doing Episode IV, V and VI stuff. Not that big a deal, but my games will probably be using the same "era" deck for both sides.

Embrace the theoretical events. Good adaptations of games involve what could have happened. Not just what did.
