When using stay on target with a quadjumper, can you turn a forward into a reverse maneuver?

The build used would be

Zuvio

stay on target

cad bane

bomblet generator

If i found myself wrong footed by a forward does that combo allow me to change a to a reverse and drop the bomblet in front of the ship?

This works fine.

There's no need for an official answer, a speed 1 reverse manoeuvre is the same speed as a speed 1 forward manoeuvre.

Your speed is still a 1 though regardless which way you are going. If you backup your car at 10mph or drive forward at 10mph you wouldn't say you backed up at negative 10mph.

It's not. It's considered a speed 1 reverse manoeuvre. It has a different symbol on the dial from a forward manoeuvre and no minus symbol...

You are right. I was looking at the maneuvers table in the wiki where they have it as -1. But the one that comes with the ship has simply a 1.
