Curse Tokens are Effect Tokens, too, right?

Just like Burn, Bleed, Stun, Sleep, etc.

On a side note: If Sleep is an Effect Token and the wearer of the Crown of the Elder Kings is not affected by it, how is he handled if the party gets Ambushed in an Outdoors Encounter? Is he automatically the hero on watch?

I'm not certain, honestly, but I have a follow-up question in the same line.

If you wear the Crown of the Elder King (or the Mirror Shield), and you equip a Cursed Item, will you get a curse token then?
