Supply Deficit and you.

By LugWrench, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Just a few questions for clarification. I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere.

The Reward card 'Supply Deficit' states "At the start of each mission, the heroes may spend 100 credits. If they do not, each hero suffers 2 strain."

Does this mean if the players voluntarily decline to spend the credits (even if they have it available), they take the strain? Is this cumulative over multiple players/heroes (i.e. Player A declines/fails to spend the credits, heroes suffer 2 strain. Player B declines/fails to spend the credits, heroes suffer +2 strain. Player C declines/fails to spend the credits, heroes suffer +2 strain, etc.)?

Yes, the heroes decide collectively whether they want to spend 100 credits to avoid taking 2 strain each. Only once.

I may know the answer to this one, but I'm going to ask anyway, just so I know. If the players DON'T have 100 credits to spend, they would then suffer the 2 strain because they can't spend the credits....?

Yup. Gotta have those credits. :)

That one was pretty massive in our campaign finale. The rebels had been spending the 100 credits for a couple of missions, but forgot about it and spent all the credits before the final mission. Between that and Weary from toil, i think they started the mission with 3 strain each.

Note that it's just 100 credits total , not 100 credits per hero .

I had a similar situation in a campaign I was playing against my cousin. It was our first foray into IA, and I got the reward card early in the core campaign. He ignored it for the first mission I had it, then he realized it was important to spend credits on it. Later on he only had 50 credits and couldn't afford it. I allowed him to chose 2 of his 4 heroes to not suffer the strain. I would allow that again given the opportunity.
