The topic say's it all, just want to hear from people that have played both

Haven't played it yet, but from looking at the forums, sounds like it isn't. They put in some "fixes" that RtL had problems with (like the Tamalir rush, the wide gap in CPs) but introduced a bunch of new problems (Lts difficult to kill, the boat, etc).

But since the Overlord gets fewer Lts, making them tougher and harder to kill seems to be a good trade off.

Plus, you don't actually have to kill a lieutenant to stop the overlord. Just driving them off gives you several more weeks to adventure before you have to worry about them again.
