Characters and Units We Want to See in LEGION

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in Star Wars: Legion

Just my 2 cents but I would love to see a droid 3 pack with an R2, R4 and an R5 astromech with ability to add one or all. Still would like an R2-D2 and a Chopper but would love some generics.

My Rebel trooper of choice are the Fleet Troopers (aka New Hope blockade runner). I know their stats are usually not great and I'm sure we'll see them but I always liked the look. Would also love some alien troops like Mon Cal soldiers.

Sandtroopers are my Imperial choice (especially with Dewbacks).

stormies........every type...and in so many amazing positions!......

Trade Federation:

Droidekas

Missile Tanks

Geonosian Commandos

etc...

* Edit: Separatists, not just Trade Fed :P

Absolutely not. I don't mind commanders with a name. I mind commanders with a name that are better than Darth Vader or Obi Wan Kenobi. It is what they did to X-Wing. Newer has to be better and the more they have to scrape the barrel, the more overpowered the new stuff gets. It is called X-Wing because nobody flies an X-Wing anymore.

I think that is a problem for all of the star wars FFG games. The intro/first stuff out tends to be overcosted or underpowered once you get 4-5 waves in.

I really hope they approach it sort of like Android netrunner. Where playing Criminals vs Shapers vs Anarchs led to very different play styles. I hope that Luke players will be encouraged to approach the game differently than a Leia player or a Han player. I also hope some of the commanders change the army composition rules. Like maybe if you play some Bothan commander you can take an extra spec ops unit but only 1 heavy. I could see that being interesting.

I'd like to see a lot more variety of aliens on the Rebel side, and wonder how that might be implemented. A team of Mon Cal Engineers? Sullustan Sappers? Bothan Infiltrators? Or will they just continue to sprinkle random different alien minis alongside humans in each squad?

I'd like to echo clones and droids (which I'm seeing a lot) but want to emphasize one thing in particular: STAPs. I'd love to see some Light and Heavy STAPs on the droid side. I have no idea why, I think I just enjoyed flying them around in some Episode I video game. It'd be nice to have some different size "speeders" to choose from on a faction, and even mix-and-match.

I'd LOVE some of the EU stuff too. I realize that's unlikely, but there have been some other non-canon suggestions so I don't feel bad admitting it. Plus, I think there'd just be something therapeutic about beating down Kylo Ren with Jacen Solo.

Concerning this topic: I do, at least of there aren't generic alternatives. It just isn't thematic when every single battle features some hero from the movies - that especially goes for themed armies. Vader never did battle on Sullust, certainly not after the planet joined the rebellion. There is no imperial garrison commander known from Sullust. This means I will have to use someone generic and make him my own (great!) or compromise using semi-apropriate choices (meh).

I know that a number of people feel the same way, so please listen, FFG.

Stormies.....stormies in many possess....und arms....and roles.....with exceptional imperial army officers.....wunderbar!!!

My vote is as many Wookies as possible. If I could have an all Wookie army I could die happy.

501st elite Stormtroopers. Put them in cold weather gear to make them look different.

Ahsoka Tano.

Gary the Stormtrooper.

Wish list includes -

The Empire

Imperial Army Troopers

ISB Ground troops

Death Troopers

Shore Troopers

Elite Biker Scout Snipers

The Inqusitorius

Imperial Commandos

I'm hoping we finally get Major General Veers!

The Rebels

The MLC - 3

Jedi Master Luke

Major Bren Derlin

Rex

Lt. Page

Wookiee Berserkers!

Rebel SpecForce Heavy Weapons Specialits

Rebel SpecForce Infiltrators

Rebel SpecForce Pathfinders

Rebel SpecForce Urban Combat Specialits

Hoping for some mixed races in the units!

Scum and Villany

Boba Fett has to be a given.

Bounty Hunters we have not seen in Imperial Assault yet.

Mandalorians

Dark Sun members

Some Long Shots but since it's a wish list -

Dark Forces Troopers

Nohgri Death Commandos

Tonnika Sisters

What? no Obi wan Kenobie, no Darth Maul, No one from Rebels

I would like to see a generic commander for each side. Basically "An Imperial Captain" and "A Rebel Captain". For even more variety, I could see giving each three different cards, a "Green", "Veteran" and "Elite" version.

Not every skirmish has to be between powerhouses. And I'm sure there were minor battles in places other than Hoth and Endor.

I think, all Commanders will be charakters from the films, TV series and other stuff. They will function like the Commander Upgrade in Armada and modify your army through the Command Cards.

There will be characters from OT like General Veers (led ground assault at Hoth) and maybe Han Soloe (led the group at Endor). From Rebels a blind Jarrus Kanan could be interesting and Ahsoka Tano is a wounderful miniature to paint, I suppose. For the Empire there are charakters like the Grand Inquisitor, Governor Price. From Rogue 1, I could imagine Saw Gerrera (being as slow as Vader) and Orson Krannic. The Han Solo movie will bring additional good guys and villains.

Star Wars is a huge brand and there are so many characters which got names and stories in the EU. Also in Armada there was a plea for generic (0 point) Commanders. But I really would be very supprised, if FFG would deny themselves to bring the flavor of the Star Wars Universe with the names of Unique Commanders.

Imagine it if he was brought in for Wave 2 and could destroy everything. Special power fly to any point and board and kill anything near him.

Oh imagine the disturbance in the force!!

The Mandalorians from Rebels could be nice for either faction - they've got the armored, professional soldier look of Stormtroopers, but with the individualized markings of Rebels, good Commander candidates for both sides, and a variety of color schemes. And jetpacks!

Grand Admiral Thrawn

Grand Moff Tarkin

Governor Pryce

all wearing that fantastic hat and chest plate

We have lots of units to choose from and I have no doubt they will get to most of them. If the game is half decent rules wise it will be a success for years to come. What I am hoping to see is bonuses for themed army lists. If I play a Rebel commando list with x numbers of commando squads and certain vehicles then the army gets bonus Y. If I field a Shore Trooper detachment, then I am limited to certain vehicles and squads but get bonus z. In other words I am hoping army themes gets rewarded and we see coherent forces on the table and not mishmash armies.

While I get what you are saying, there are countless unnamed officers in the SW universe. Not every battle is led by Veers or Vader or one of the 50 other special characters from books and whatnot. One of the charms of traditional tabletop gaming is being able to create your very own commander. If we compare Legion to the leading tabletop game WH40K, they have a small number of special characters for each faction which are generally very powerful but expensive and cannot really be changed. Then there are also a number of generic characters usually at least a low cost version with lower stats, and a high cost version with better stats (i.e Captain & General). There is then a 'wargear' itemlist, which these generic commanders can select items and even special rules from for a cost (and up to a max of X points, say 50points for the lesser commander, and 100 points for the better version). This way you can really create your own custom character tailored to fit & complement your list as opposed to tailoring your list to fit the special character.

I'm not sure if legion will go this route, but I personally feel this would be an excellent addition, both helping to make your army unique and adding more depth to the army building process. From what I've seen there is at least some customization to the special characters in Legion (force powers for Vader etc.) but I'd still like to see generic commanders with a baseline of stats that you can add items/abilities to, to really make them your own.

I would like to see generic unnamed characters as well.
