Though I'm not clear on exactly what the difference is between the Rogue One and Original trilogy timelines would be seeing as they are literally separated by nothing more that a set of closing credits and and opening crawl...
It's likely we'll also see things like Imperial Jetpack troopers, and so on.
I dont think pilots will be seen in this game either it is just on my wish list. I am building a Death Star Interior with multi levels and I really wanted the cohesion of pilots vs pilots in an interior skirmish. I was just hoping for a break from the black-and-white troopers and the field camo troopers.
Tusken Raiders. Lots and lots and lots of them
The Rogue One Rebels especially Pao ... cool little guy ... and, then, Saw's entire group with Two Tube brothers
99.9% of what I own/collect for SW is Imperial or Tusken Raiders. This game, though, and the concept, as well as everyone's love for Imperials, has me leaning towards Rebels. Of course, Luke is borderline deal killer ... not a fan ... but the army will allow little more room to paint/custom build, etc, as well as more variance in figures. And based on my readings here I would never have a problem finding a game.
Like, I am probably going to trade my Stormtroopers for Rebels out of core set and don't think would take long to find a taker
Commander Salacious B Crumb.

Manical laughter: Reduce the moral total of all enemies at range 2 or closer by 1.
Annoying jerk: Add 1 white attack die to all attacks made by droids targeting this character.

Mandos Mandos Mandos....Mandos Mandos Mandos...
Ahem, anywho.
Other then the Mandalorians, who I think are probably a given and will be my main faction even if I have to technically play 'Imperial'.
Rebels:
Swoop Bikes (less well armed then Imperial Bikes but more maneuverable?)
Alliance Intelligence Black Ops (Scarif Grunts ' We've all done Terrible Things for the Rebellion).
Rebel Fleet Troopers (Cannon fodder guys in both ANH and Rogue One)
Aliens Blister Packs (Maybe split by type, 'Heavy' Alien pack could have a Besalisk, a Wookie, That white thing from Rogue One etc all with heavy weapons, 'Medium' has standard troopers but Twi'Lek, Rhodian, Transdoshan etc and 'Small' has creatures like Jawas, Sullustans, That other thing from Rogue One etc all in support roles or with special abilities. )
Imperials:
Those heavy duty security droids from Rebels.
Scarif Troopers
Squad from Battlefront 2 (supporting fire from a Raider anyone?)
Other Factions I'd like:
Mandos!
Wookies
Scum conversion kits for rebel troopers to make them more generically armed badguy then organised army.
I'll be all over a Mandalorian faction like flies on....well, you get the idea.
But then i'm an unashamed fan of the Republic Commando novels by "She Who Shall Not Be Named" (which frankly is more polite than the names half the Star Wars fanbase called her), and am happy to admit it ![]()

Anyone who calls her anything other than ma'am can take a beskaar gauntlet to the teeth. Was vinegar to the eyes what Filoni did to my mandos. If Lost Stars is considered the height of SW fiction now, we live in sad sad times
I was re-watching season 2 of the Clone Wars and it struck me: Couldn't the Weequay pirates be a fringe unit or faction?
- There were easily about 100 of them, probably more.
- They were well organized.
- They had swoops, tanks and ships too.
- Not to mention, they were able to trap and keep two Jedi and a Sith prisoners for a time.
- Naturally, Hondo Ohnaka would be the commander of this fringe unit, plus throw in a lieutenant or two.

Hahaha.. yes.. except.. one minor detail, barely worth mentioning.. [preceding to be read in Hondo's voice]
As this is galactic civil war era only, Hondo has nothing but a captured Sentinal Class Lander and Azmorigan.

While I get what they did with the character, I hate it nonetheless. Not only does Hondo feel neutered, but there are so many unanswered questions that would be great stories. For example....how did Fett get the Slave 1 back from Hondo?
I really liked what they did with Hondo in the CW, heck the line about Boba not being the son of Hondo and Aurra alone is so horrible it's amazing, and that was only like 7 words.

they'd be the equivilent of that one army that's really good at killing one type of unit (in this case droids) but get's wrecked by just about everything else.
Still, I want them for the sheer hilarity factor.

You are attributing too much of Jar Jar onto the gungans.
AT-STs, AT-DPs, AT-PTs, Imperial Fighter Tanks.... anything armored and run by the Empire basically. I want to play with nothing but troopers and armor.... and the troopers only because I have to.
Edited by NorsehoundWow, just realized we could have special "named" units like the Sixty-First Mobile Infantry (Twilight Company) or Inferno Squad...
Really looking forward to seeing some more of the new canon characters come to life.
11 hours ago, Orcdruid said:You are attributing too much of Jar Jar onto the gungans.
not exactly, if you re-watch the battle the regular gungan soldiers had personal shields and were decent throwers, not amazing but still competent.
Of course one squad of droideka's will wreck the entire army so....
In all honesty I would like terrain that can be interacted with. Speeder bikes that can be used by solo units or a landspeeder, maybe an e-web that is placed and can be used by who gets to it
and wandering monsters from the universe Krayts, Gundarks, Rancors, Mynocks?, Ewoks (target practice), Gungans (just for killy fun) stuff like that

It'll depend on how complex FFG wants to get and how they see the game's play.
Fixed emplacements are a thing in other games, so it's doable. But it also means the game usually gets more static as Armies bunker down. If FFG wants the game to stay mobile, they may shy away from that sort of thing.
Likewise Special effects like rampaging animals, spreading fire, drifting smoke, and so on take up time to run. If FFG is going for fast play, they may not do that.
That said, I'll be surprised if some basic concepts like occupiable buildings, multistory buildings, and so on aren't covered...

Can FFG please do Characters for the New episodes of Stars Wars way later....can we get all the iconic characters AND non iconic old trilogy firsts I don't want Kylo Ren anywhere near Vader until the game is dying, Disney will corrupt you to do it don't please...

Yes they were close range fighters, however they had energy shields that absorbed blaster bolts so they could get close.
So many things I want to see...
Upgrade where you can call in for X-Wing or Tie Bomber support. Maybe even the Millennium Falcon.
DF.9 turret placement http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DF.9
All of the new cannon books would be great. Example, you could have Special Forces that look like Inferno squad but they don’t have to be named Inferno squad or Iden Versio. Just have a 4 unit group with some very cool upgrades options that represent Inferno Squad. Same for Twilight Company or The Free Ryloth movement.
I'd like to see:
Wookie "Freedom Fighter" Squad that focus on melee and/or short range weapons.
Rebel squad mounted on creatures of some sort. With the ability to traverse through terrain more easily or climb walls.
Rebels with turrets mounted on a speeder.
An Original Urban/Tactical Ground Vehicle for the Rebels.
Stormtroopers with Jet Packs.
2-3 Person Sniper Teams. Rebels and Empire.
Deathtrooper Squad From Rogue One
Probe Droid Squad. Either Empire style or Darth Maul type.
AT-DP from Rebels for the Empire. With options to go heavy or light weapons.
Upgrade pack of Droids that add different things to your squad; Medic, Ammo, Special Ability Tech.
Above all else, I want to see original content made by FFG. I think they're a super creative group of people. While it's awesome to have your favorite trooper, Walker or speeder, I want new exciting things not the same ol stuff I've bought the last 20 years... I've had (Still/have) an AT-ST with Wizards of the Cost and Imperial Assault, I'll be happy with it Legions too, but I want some new stuff to ogle over.
