Lets say, just as a matter of discusssion , and maybe some of you veterans of the game have considered this. If TOI comes out with something less than spectacular after all of the OFF time since normandy. Lets say a map pack or something roody-poo. Would you drop TOI as your wargame of choice for another market like Memoir'44.

Myself, I've only been a MEMBER of the TOI community for 2 months or less and i have not experienced everything, as of yet. I do hope they come up with the next BIG installment, but i don't feel worthy of commenting on this, being a newb.

Any Thoughts?

I've already got all the M44 stuff, and doubles on the base game & east front expansion pack. Great game, completely different style and feel, a "light" wargame.

The game that I think is closest to TOI in scope and "feel" is Conflict of Heros, although it is different enough to own both as well.

TOI is a super game, and as long as FFG keeps supporting the game, I'll be on board.

The stage is set with all of the German pieces for FFG to add in the Russians, and there is a sea of potential beyond that for additional expansions. I really think a Russian expansion would be well recieved by fans and would do quite well in sales.

They could maybe add more house and factory overlays for scenarios in Stalingrad style... maybe some german Tanks and russians for bigger tank battles... a lot of historical scenarios where both sides can be attacker or defender... And after a russian expansion it would be just logical to make a Japanese one. So you could play German vs russians but also russians (US and UK) vs Japanese... that would be great!! So they could after that come out with scenario expansions for every theater of war in the ww2 era.

M44...never played, but looks interesting...but i am thinking more about to buy me TANNHÄUSER...

I sold everything I had about M44. TOI is just the WWII game I wanted: enough complexity, fun, nice looking, action, tension and last second winning situations. I still have a few scenarios to play from the Desert Fox extension and many from the Designer Series.

I am waiting for an Eastern Front new extension to come (as this is my favorite front). If it never comes out, I will simply create it!

So far, I have only invested in the base game. I love TOI, but for me, Normandy and Desert Fox are not areas of interest to me for the WW2 conflict. I am hoping for Russian Front, and or Pacific Theater. Support in that arena would get me excited.

I have played M44, but personally, I enjoy TOI considerably more.
