The Empire's Best: TIE/x1 Builds

Because You dont fly RAC as a Jouster. You Fly him as an Arc Dodger. He is HYPER mobile with EU and scary fast. Keep in mind at PS10 your gonna get lots of chances to Arc Dodge. And with Palp your gonna push through dmg + his pilot ability.

If you get at least two rounds in where you take no or few shots on RAC but get attacks in on your opponent you "should" be able to win the HP countdown most of the time.

Never take them on straight on. Use the Turret BS to your advantage and use EU to get in and out of favorable spots. Bait them and turn away or fly past eating bomblets for breakfast. Not only is he a fantastic arc dodger, he throws PS0 around so that Vader can fly as a proper Arc Dodger even if your opponent brought a PS11 Vader/QD/Han and a bid.

FFG put Kylo Ren into the game so that Imperial Players could continue to fly Aces the way they want to. Its on us to use it and bring Palp to guarantee the advantage against low agility crap.

Four Tempest Squadron Pilots with X1, Accuracy Correctors, Cluster Missiles, and Guidance Chips.

It's not bad, and I've had luck with it - but the low pilot skill and short range of the cluster missiles makes it tricky to work. Odds are decent you'll lose a ship before it can even fire them (I've always done so when taking that list to tournaments).

Honestly, I find AC/DC to be the stronger version of this list. (IE., Four Tempests with title and AC, flying with Dark Curse)

If you want a 'proper' Storm Squadron force from Star Wars Galaxies:

  • Commander Alozen - TIE/x1, Intensity, Advanced Targeting Computer (barrel roll into range 1 and receive target lock & focus for free)
  • Lieutenant Colzet - TIE/x1, Fire Control System, Cruise Missiles, Guidance Chips (Shoot someone, Koiogan turn behind them and put a cruise missile into their backside, then flip a damage card face-up)
  • Storm Squadron Pilot - TIE/x1, Accuracy Corrector (Generic TIE/x1s. Tempests would be more cost effective, though, if you're not so bothered about theme - and let you take Proton Rockets on the commander.)

I generally think the best system for a generic is Accuracy Corrector, although I wonder if Advanced Targeting Computers might be a good call in support of thread tracer fire - only recently registered you can fire those things at range 1-3 (not a flexibility I'm used to with missiles!)

  • Zertik Strom - TIE/x1, Intensity, Advanced Targeting Computer, XX-23 Thread Tracers, Guidance Chips
  • Tempest Squadron Pilot - TIE/x1, Advanced Targeting Computer, XX-23 Thread Tracers, Guidance Chips x 3

I have the feeling that Vader with ATC paired with Vessery could be nasty.

I've been flying triple Tie Advanceds recently. Maarek and Juno at PS9 and Vader at 11. Vader with EU and ATC while the others have AC and GC. All with Cruise Missiles.

Lots of fun, and a quick death most of the time. Won about 40% of casual games but they're not going to win any tournament except limited ones where scum and good ships are banned.
