I still dont get this card and i am new to SWA.

What does this card do and when do you use it?

Can someone give me a thorough example of this card being used?

Hi, and welcome!

Normally, when a defense token is first spent, it goes from readied (green) to exhausted (red). If spent while red, it is discarded altogether. If not, it goes back to green at the end of the round. So if you use it sparingly you get many uses out of it - up to one per round.

What Intel Officer does is mark a defense token (normally of the ship you are attacking) so that, if the defender uses it while green, it doesn't go to red - it gets discarded outright and can't be used again.

Immediately after you roll your dice, Intel officer targets one of the defender's defense tokens.

IF that token is spent during the attack, it must be discarded.

So a great way to get rid of a green token.

Typical use: Demolisher. Move, then shoot last in one round. Intel officer target's brace.

Defender must now either say goodbye to brace - or take a lot of damage.

Then retreat start of next round. Whatever happens, defender only gets 1 brace from 3 powerful attacks, rather than 3 uses.

This is the most archetypal use, but many other applications.

ok, so if i understand this:

my Nebulon-B fires at a Victory-I Star Destroyer.

After i roll my dice, i tell my opponent that my INTEL OFFICER has marked his BRACE token.

If he decides to use it to take half damage off the attack i hit him with, instead of flipping it over to the red side, he loses the BRACE token for the rest of the game?

Just keep in mind that in armada after means immediately after, so you cannot for example reroll some dice and then declare Intel officer.

thanks guys, i have read the rules and everything in the core set and i will getting two of each expansion to fill out my collection.

i will probably have more rules that i will need answers on.
