Well, there has been much debate as to whether or not Thrawn was the "something big" we were promised. I've waved back and forth in what I think.

On one hand, we not only got Thrawn, but TWO large base ships this wave, both chockablock full of neat new upgrades and twists (at least in the Chimaera expansion, as we have yet to see much of the MC75 expansion)

On the other hand, we all saw Thrawn as an inevitability, same goes for the MC75. Does that make it less "big"? On top of that, we are now missing ANOTHER product, SWM28, to go along with the long sought after SWM20. FFG also didn't say in their online Wave VII preview that this was officially the "something big".

I am starting to think this (Wave VII) was the something big promised at GenCon. But still..........

Based on what FFG said, it's quite clear that the upcoming Force Friday reveal is likely an entirely new game or product line (as opposed to an expansion to an existing one).

I'd presume that wave VII didn't fit the bill as the something big being worked on considering it was 5 days from Gencon till the announcement on Friday. And I still suspect Wave VII was due to be a Gencon release but they didn't have the kit handy.

True. Something being WORKED ON. Implying it is at present, incomplete.

Wave VII looks pretty wrapped up to me (and if being "worked on" meant that they were setting up the announcement..... well I'll be pretty angry)

The only problem with my thinking on that, and I just checked, is that wave VII is still in development. So technically they are still working on it and could be why we didn't get the MC75 cards. Fingers crossed there is something else in the pipeline because classing this as the something big would be a disappointment.

Or we didn't get the 75's cards because there is a Force Friday spoiler in there, and they can't show the spread.

That would be pretty sweet to get the article on Friday, then the entire weekend trying to pixel read the faceup cards!

I don't know how many will agree, but if Wave VII is the "Big Something," I will be more than happy with that. It is already going to take a big bite out of my wallet.

Yes, I want a bunch of other ships as well, but I'm okay with waiting for more Large+ ships.

Now if they want to drop an Episode VIII fighter pack with new X-Wings, and A-Wings, And Ties, and shuttles, and that funky Resistance Bomber, or a small ship or two... my pocketbook can handle that.

I cannot dismount from this hype train.

I like wave VII from what I know about it, and have checked off the "something big is coming" box with its announcement. If more Star Wars Armada toys are lurking for Friday, that's great. But I'm content with what we've already been shown.

I'm fine it if they were talking about wave seven as I am very happy with what I see so far, but I think theres something else.

I think Wave 7 qualifies. 1 large and 1 large or medium ship. The MC75 from Rogue One everyone has been asking for. Raddus. Interesting gameplay elements with him and his ship. A repainted ISD with Thrawn, yet another character that people have been begging for. On top of that it comes with new versions of the ISD (which is a new concept), and two new fighters packed with the ISD. Don't forget the Fleet Command option on the ISD.

These are all relatively huge announcements.

I believe they likely didn't have product on hand to display at gencon, hence the delayed announcement. I just wish someone would come out and say "Yup, that was the big thing we promised." or "We actually still have something else on the way, stay tuned!" so the speculation could stop...or get worse I suppose.

I am perfectly fine with this being the big thing but if one of the cards in the MC75 spread has a picture of an A-Wing crashing into the bridge of a ....... well something BIGGER is probably coming. That combined with "Intensify ...." in the Chimaera expansion and a puzzle starts to come together, or fall apart depending on your perspective.
