First Order!

At first I was a little skeptic on Gungans but after considering it I think they would be something really neat. Their shield generators could counter the long rang game (snipers, artillery, etc) forcing your opponent up close in which they use their personal hand shields. Also good ion weapons to counter armor. They would play really aggressive and while I don't think they are anywhere in the near future, I like the idea.

They would be interesting and for those who don't like the faction they can always lead a force against them and enjoy the fun of destroying them while the people who like them could enjoy how differently they play from other faction/races.

I do not like the timeline mess which we would get with introducing Prequel and Sequel stuff. Beside that What would FO and Clones add to the game other than being reskins for the empire?

Clones could be made different by the nature of their upgrades letting them be more unique, like having more focus on specialty troopers and weapons. Clones also open the floodgate for people to paint their armies more color than Imperial white and grey. And considering how Alex was kind of pushing the Jedi abilities and the like with Luke and Vader it really seems like actually having Jedi generals, and knights would work well with this system. Battle Droids and a CIS faction would focus on quantity over quality. The FO I'm not sure what they might add seeing how they are effectively a Stormtrooper with slightly different armor and slightly better weapons so aside from some power creep or the like not sure what to do with them until we at least see the rest of that trilogy play out.

I like to think these games are all sort of sandboxes, unless they are doing something with some narrative like Imperial Assault's campaign (which is why I feel it is odd to have characters who are dead showing up and apparently so did FFG since they threw out the time period part of that game), to let players act out any battle they saw from the films or show on their tables. Besides it would be kind of cool to see someone run a campaign using their different games to go through the Clones Wars all the way through to the sequel trilogy.

As I said, nothing we couldn't have with OT Stormtroopers.

This game isn't anything that can't be done with other games. The point is, some of us may, from the visual standpoint, prefer First Order Stormtroopers, or clone troopers, to original trilogy troops.

Even if mechanically the same, visually, I prefer the new era.

I would like Fo Stoormtroopers and Clone Troopers and I'M sure they could make them different and even if not while I like the Stormtrooper design I like the CLone Trooper design even more so even if they sold they them as just a visual variant to the normal Stormtroopers I would buy them.

I'm also surprised we have yet to see a ST big box minis game yet. This could have been a great opportunity for it, with the variety of FO Trooper so far.

As someone who intends to immerse himself in the sequel era, because there's no denying the cool factor, I won't be getting into Legion unless it has Resistance Troopers and the First Order.

Only one thing about the First Order helmets. They remind me of something.....

.....not sure what though.

There's a wide range of both factions to cover from the original trilogy first, a large part of which is most likely in some stage of development. I suspect we won't see anything from any other part of the universe until a) the original trilogy has been extensively covered and more importantly b) the game is proven to sell well. The only exception might be Rogue One.

I'm not so sure about different eras of storm troopers yet, but a droid army would be extremely cool. There's already a good deal of established unit types and it would provide a visually distinct army from the standard Rebels and Imperials.

I'm fine with branching out either to the clone wars or the sequel trilogy, but there is so much in the GCW era that can be mined:

Death Troopers

Wookiee Commandos

Bothan Spies (single model unit that lets you use actions to look at the top of the opponent's command stack)

Noghri

AT-STs and AT-PTs

T-47s (doable in this scale, but possibly the biggest minis we could get)

Tanks (both the IA one and the Rogue One one)

Man, there is so much. As much as I would love to see scale starfighters, I think there are two problems (which could also impact the T-47s viability):

1) the scale makes it difficult to pull off, it seems like an X-Wing would be roughly the size of an X-Wing Gozanti

2) the game mechanics make it seem like fighters would have a massive compulsory movement, and they will likely fly right off the board. Probably better represented as a bombing run card. Although a crashed X-Wing would be awesome terrain and as an objective.

I think they said the T-47 was in the game during one of the demo videos, but I could be wrong. It will be bigger than most models, but it would have an elevated base so it doesn't take up too much room on the board, but going up to star fighter size is highly unlikely. I could see having the bombing run by Y-wings or TIE Bombers being a coordinated action with certain ground troops directing them, artillery too; use a range template to determine who gets hit in a certain area.

Snow speeders were mentioned by FFG rep(s) for sure.

Yeah, I know Alex Davies specifically called out snowspeeders and AT-STs in the Team Covenant video. I'm just saying I'm very interested to see how it works out.

I think it's also telling that even though the Team Covenant guys mentioned AT-ATs a few times, Alex never once repeated it.

Bothans won't be happening anytime soon. Bothans have apparently, been removed from the FFG rpg, and several other media. The reason likely being that Lucasfilm is going to redefine their appearance and culture. You can still find artwork of what used to be bothans, but they aren't bothan anymore.

Until lucasfilm depicts them in media, they are a no go.

And before someone complains about Disney ruining them, know that the bothans have changed appearance several times over the years.

It seems these troopers:

Hunt down and execute anyone that doesnt tow the party line - sorry Finn.

Perhaps an ability that increases the morale of nearby troops? Or, converts a suppression token to a damage.

After seeing the new Rebels trailer for season 4 can I just say Mandalorians? Is that enough?

That could be a possibility if we get to see enough units... I saw some type of mech in the trailer that could even work as heavy units... I imagine an army of mandalorians that has access to jetpack units as standard troops (like blood angels in 7th edition if I don't recall wrongly).

Yeah my thoughts exactly. And that mech thing! What in the world! Mando would be fun to field. I have wanted to put an army of these guys since the Tales of the Jedi days.
