While not sold on this, I was hoping for inscale to x-wing vehicles, I am intrigued. I have enough of the WotC mins to have an entire army, so I can just get dice and some extra stuff and analog some stuff.

But what would really get me excited? Sequel Era First Order troops. The new Stormies and TIE pilots are sexy as heck.

Where is the love for the sequel era?

I definitely like the FO stuff but yeah it doesn't get as much attention as it should. But the upcoming one looks like it will introduce more new ships/vehicles/troop types than TFA did. So more opportunities for ships for X wing, Armada and potentially this game. I think they will flesh out the rebels and imperials GCW stuff for a good while before any FO stuff comes out though. I personally hope they don't waste time with the prequels or any of that stuff either.

Glad to see someone else saying this. I think my initial comments were lost in day one announcement hysteria. Agreed, FO would be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the board. Hopefully we will see this, Rogue One and Rebels thrown into the mix. And for good measure the Clone Wars. Why not?

I think FO troopers would add some nice visual variety, even if they had same stats.

They need to differentiate between the Empire and the First Order though. They shouldn't be playable in the same army. It causes me issues that it's allowed in X-Wing.

I can see FFG shortly announcing new factions, maybe First Order and Clones? Gungan and Droids? etc.

They were coy with Runewars but obviously had multiple factions prepared at release.

At first I was a little skeptic on Gungans but after considering it I think they would be something really neat. Their shield generators could counter the long rang game (snipers, artillery, etc) forcing your opponent up close in which they use their personal hand shields. Also good ion weapons to counter armor. They would play really aggressive and while I don't think they are anywhere in the near future, I like the idea.

Alex Davey(lead designer) said they will be sticking to the GCW era, at least for the short term.

There's alot of stuff to work with in the GCW era, so much so that they shouldn't consider doing the other eras for awhile after release.

Patience. I bet they will add these factions soon enough.

Whereas FO sounds great, I can't wait to get my hands on a company of clones, led by Yoda or Anakin and Ahsoka. I would even play the bloody droids if they were released for Legion...

First order stuff is better on hold till they finish the new trilogy, I bet by then we've seen some different armors and the comics/books have expand it even more.
I think that we are in a good track since in a single movie we already got quite units (maybe I'm forgetting something):

• FO stormtrooper
• FO flametrooper
• FO riot control stormtrooper
• Phasma Armor
• Knights of Ren

I do not like the timeline mess which we would get with introducing Prequel and Sequel stuff. Beside that What would FO and Clones add to the game other than being reskins for the empire?

I think they're probably waiting until after the trilogy is finished before they dive deep into the sequel stuff.

But to me, about the only thing that would change is the look of the First Order Stormies. Other than slightly different duds, Resistance and Rebellion are interchangeable (unless E8/9 does something clever and have the Resistance merge with the remainders of the New Republic military).

Gungans are the key to Legion, if FFG can get them working. They're a funnier army than we've ever had.

Gungans were badass. Visually, their tech was one the most unique of the entire saga. They put up a brave fight against a 'superior' army of droids. In The Clone Wars, they willingly transported their army to support the Mon Calamari, despite the fact that they were at one time xenophobic and isolationist. Other than their slightly actually quite silly appearance, the Gungans are pretty cool, it's just that Jar Jar was such a mar on their species everybody gives them crap (despite all the other Gungans being as fed up as we were with him).

I wouldn't be disappointed one bit if there was a Gungan Cavalry expansion.

The prequels add more than clones, they add gungans, droids, and wookies(1). And episodes 8&9 might show us cool new races as well.

If we get Gungans wee will also need a full metal in scale AT-AT and physically crushing of miniatures as a game mechanic.

I could stand Gungans if they were to be a totally different army/race so they do not take any space of the rebel options. I would like to be able to buy all of the rebel options without thinking "meesa stupid".

I think that wishing for different armies for each race is a bit of wish listing. I think what will happen is that we may well get wookie units ect but they will be part of the 'Rebel' army list and be specialist type units.

I that a third army will be similar to x-wing with scum and villainy as either an entire army or mercs for hire that either rebel or empire can use. I can see a driod army some time in the future as technically they didn't fight for the rebels/republic or for the empire

I would get the Gungans box for fun of painting and then make a scenario where it is extermination of them. Gungans goal survive X rounds, Attacker Wipe them out before

I think people should expect what FFG has already done. Original trilogy releases until they've scraped through the bottom of the barrel followed by sequel trilogy releases if people are still buying. Same as with X-Wing. For every one person clamoring for the prequels or the sequels there will be two who won't want to mix timelines and won't buy them. FFG can't afford that.

First Order troops would be cool (they look cool), but I'm not sure there's a compelling Resistance counterpart. Maybe there will be in Ep8/9.

I don't see any problem with timeline mixing considering they're basically the same people using basically the same ships and equipment. Biggs dies long before Lando flies for the Rebellion, after all.

What would the First Order bring?

Flametroopers. Riot Troopers, the last Jedi introduces First Order Executioners. We have heavy troopers, we have the standard troopers. We have snow troopers. There are transport speeders, holding three troops (deleted scene Finn and Rey flew this)

The First Order Lander would work as terrain, as well as the gunner up top.

We get to find a way to get a Chrome Phasma on board.

As I said, nothing we couldn't have with OT Stormtroopers.
