My first list: Imperials

By Orcdruid, in Star Wars: Legion

Yeah I know its too early, but I was bored so here it is.

Vader

Force reflexes

Saber throw

Force push

235pts

Stormies(x2)

Xtra troop

55pts(110pts)

Stormtroopers(x2)

Xtra troop

DLT troop

Concussion nades

84pts(168pts)

Stormtroopers

HH-12 troop

Targeting scopes

84pts

Speeder bikes(x2)

Long range comms

100pts(200pts)

Army total

797pts

-----Command cards-----

2x ambush

2x rush

Master of evil

Assault

Standing orders

These command cards are chosen under the impression that I can only take one of Vaders cards otherwise I would take implacable in place of an ambush.

-----tactics-----

vader moves towards the enemies either pulling them in for an attack or useing saber throw to reach out to them. He uses force reflexes every turn to take advantage of deflect.

The DLT squads are there to provide cover fire for the stormies who will be going after obj. Tokens or hoofing it to cover and laying down suppressing fire.

the HH-12 squad's job is to take out AT-RT'S. This may change down to a DLT squad because a good chunk of my units have impact 1 already but I like the impact 3 especially with 4 rerolls.

finally, the speeders are there to act as flankers and maybe even herders.

Here is mine ^^ (dont know all the cards)

  • Vader (200+30) [Commander]

Force reflexes (+15)

Saber throw (+10)

Force Choke (+5)
  • StormTroopers (44+46) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

DLT-19 Trooper (+24)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

  • StormTroopers (44+46) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

DLT-19 Trooper (+24)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

  • StormTroopers (44+46) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

DLT-19 Trooper (+24)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

  • StormTroopers (44+46) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

DLT-19 Trooper (+24)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

  • StormTroopers (44+56) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

HH-12 Trooper (+34)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

  • StormTroopers (44+56) [Troop]

Trooper (+11)

HH-12 Trooper (+34)

Concussion Granades (+5)

Targeting Scopes (+6)

-------------------------------------------------

Cost in Total: 230 + 90x4 + 100x2 = 790

Tactic: Typical troop swarm, with option against cover (nades) or armour (HH-12). Later would exhange Scopes, nades for something more usefull. Most likely remove granades from HH-12 units to have 20 points bit.

is there a central location for all the currently known cards?

There was some post with all upgrade cards IIRC, unit/commander cards are easy to find (TC preveiw/demo video).

Reddit.com/r/swlegion has a wiki put together of what is known so far.

Hmm... Targeting scopes give Precise 1, but stormtroopers have it already. So there are no sense in giving scopes to them (unless dublicate effects stack).

List building is one of my favourite parts of a wargame, right now there is not much to build with but its still fun.

I can already see your armies in front of me on the table and wonder how I will take them on, the trooper spam actually looks really scary, 36 stormtroopers! With that kind of firepower I wonder how much of an enemy army is still standing after the first round.

Armour should be the natural counter to the swarms so have the impact weapons spread out.

I wrote up a potential Rebel list assuming I get my hands on models from a second core set, not planning on buying two but might trade my imperials or borrow in the beginning.

Luke Skywalker, targeting scope, Force reflex, Jedi mind trick - 186

AT-RT, Rotary blaster, long range coms
AT-RT, Laser cannon, long range coms

Rebel Troopers, extra trooper, Z-6 trooper, grenades, targeting scope, -83
Rebel Troopers, extra trooper, Z-6 trooper, grenades, targeting scope, -83
Rebel Troopers, extra trooper, Z-6 trooper, MPL-57 Ion trooper, grenades, targeting scope, -115
Rebel Troopers, extra trooper, Z-6 trooper, MPL-57 Ion trooper, grenades, targeting scope, -115

Tot: 777

There are perhaps more uppgrades I can take or use the Ion troopers instead of the Z-6 to get more points in my list, we also dont have the rules or points for the flamethrower for the AT-RT.

You think this list could give any of your lists a run for their money?

Precise I do belive does stack, I thought I heard it in one of the game videos, could be the TC-one, I think they said that all of these abilites stack that have values, not 100% sure bit at least 80% that its true...

In the TC demo he said that keywords with numbers after them stack. So it would make the Storm Troopers Precise 2 with that upgrade.

The z-6 and MPL-57 take the same upgrade slot so you get one or the other per squad.

On armor, both imperial heavy weapon options have impact so they should be able to take care of armor fairly easily. Also the only armor currently is on the AT-RT which has a 1/6 chance to block. So depending on what that gear symbol means(could be repair, could be a damaged mechanic) they should go down easy.

Aha, did not know that, I only looked at some pictures of the models included and I could see both of the special weapons in the same squad and assumed they could, never mind, I will have to think of something else then. Will probably keep the Ion troopers anyway just to try them out but it does makes it hard to hit 800 loosing about 40 points.

It will be interesting to see just how the game will turn out with armor vs infantry, balance between weapons etc once we have the full rules, right now the list you guys have really look scary. It will also beinterseting too see how tha objective games goes with regard to army compostion. Cant wait for more detail on teh rules.

I will just buy more wave 1 stuff to get to 800 or play smaller size games.

Just because it is fun I did a change where two Z-6s from the squad that has double specialts and the long range coms is taken out then I could just add a third AT-RT instead, with rotary blasters.
I like walkers...
