Raddus MC80 Liberty Fleet

By IronCondor, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

This is the first thing that came to mind when I saw Raddus' ability: fly a bunch of CR90s around on turn 1, aim to drop the Liberty into their flank either start of Turn 2 or start of Turn 3.

In a game that's so dependent upon positioning, nothing screws up a fleet more than a large front-arc battery in your flank that you weren't accounting for.

Looks good, though there is one little problem. Raddus can't be on the Liberty, since the ship you set aside has to be one other than his flagship. Other than that, looks like something I might want to try.

Good callout -- I'm sure he'll survive fine on one of the zippy CR90s.

This is more or less exactly what I pictured when I first saw Raddus. I'm by no means an experienced fleet builder, but I thought of a couple of ideas to consider:

First, Engine Techs on one of the Corvettes might help you get better positioning for the drop. I don't know if it's necessary, but it might be cool to try out.

Second, since you can probably drop the big guy right into medium range if you want to, you could be able to save a few points by going the Star Cruiser + SW7s + DTTs route instead of Battle Cruiser + LS + Spinals. I'm not sure of the maths on expected damage output, and it's obviously a matter of personal preference as well, but it could be something to consider.

Been toying with Raddus as well.

How about hyperspace assault as an objective? Then you can drop a cr90 behind enemy lines, and drop the mc80 next to it with some fighter cover.

That would give the enemy something to worry about.
