Repair command and Raymus Antilles

By sonicblue, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

My Yavaris with Raymus Antilles already has got a stored nav + repair token.

I reveal my command dial and it shows a squadron command.

Can I now first use the repair token and then get the squadron token through Raymus or does Raymus kick in before the repair command and I have to throw a token away so I dont have three tokens for a short time?

Raymus Antilles card says: When you reveal a command, you may gain....

The repair command timing is: Resolve after revealing the ship's command dial.

Which is right? Can I chose the order?

The very first thing you must do is reveal the dial.

From the RRG, p.11

1. Reveal Command Dial: Reveal the ship’s top command dial. Then either place the dial next to the ship in the play area or spend the dial to place the corresponding

You have no time between revealing the dial and deciding on saving the token. Thus you can't use the existing Engineering token before placing a token from the dial.

"When" goes before "after".

You first resolve all the "before" effects, then all the "when" and "while" effects, then all the "after" effects.

As for the difference between "when" and "while", the RRG is less explicit, but as a rule of thumb:

  • "When" effects are resolve immediately upon the triggering event (which is generally an "instant" event).
  • "While" effects can be resolved at any* time during the triggering event (which is generally an event with a certain duration).

*: Unless otherwise noted. For example, dice manipulation "while attacking" always happens during the "resolve attack effects" step of the attack sequence.

Awesome. Thanks for your help guys. This is also how we played it. My fellow gamer insisted. ?
