I'm not a massive fan of the chunky bases and would like to replace them with something less elevated.
Does anyone know if Legion uses standard wargaming base diameters?

Edited by JohnnyTrashNobody knows. This might even be disallowed in the rules.

Hi Johnny! The foot of the base measures exactly 27mm across

Thanks! That's a weird size... Seems as if I might have to stick with the FFG ones for now.

Yeh.. I was toying with the idea of going with clear acrylic bases so I could use the minis on a variety of terrain types without them looking odd, but I'm not sure anyone produces bases that size.
This is in the U.K., but I'm sure it exists elsewhere.
Clear acrylic discs cut to custom size. 27mm diameter and 2mm or 3mm thickness....50 comes in at £17.

Nice one! Do you have a link to that please?
Doh....thought I'd linked it!

I haven't used them yet mind you, but there seems a few similar places around.

You play the game too? Or at least you will be?

Excellent - thanks mate. I'll probably give them a go (perhaps ordering 100 which comes out at £24).

Yes I can't wait! I've already begun work on some terrain in anticipation

You should post pics when you got some time. I'm getting ready to do the same thing after NoVa and I get to see the demo for the game and understand the scale of the game.
I'm probably going to get some closer to the time....please leave a comment here if you get them first so we know they work. Can't see any reason why a hey won't though!
I think I'll go 2mm thick...looks a bit thinner than the official bases but shouldn't be enough to be really noticeable.

Sure thing! I'll probably wait until they create a painting & terrain sub forum, but I'd be happy to share my progress

No problem. It looks they're shut for the summer holidays at the moment but I'll get some in September and report back.
The big question is whether or not LoS is a cylinder based on base size. If its like Infinity, then they need to supply some silhouette tokens. But if its actually seeing the model itself, that'll mean you'll need to match the base height.
@Sorastro From the image you posted of Legion Luke and IA Luke, it looked like the Legion base is 5mm thick. Is that correct?

Hey Inksplat! Yes.. the base appears to be between 4.5-5mm thick.
If you are in the UK East Riding miniatures will produce custom MDF base sizes. Warbases do a 26.5mm MDF one, but always worth dropping them a line to see if they might add the extra .5 mil. If you are anywhere near North East UK they are at the Border Reiver wargames show next Saturday
I know I have had custom sized MDF from them in past. UK Cost is £1.50 for approx 50 bases
Anyhwere else just a case of doing a search for MDF wargame bases and see what comes up.

Los will be true line of sight and 1 or 2 mm of bade height won't make a difference
Tournament rules-wise, I will bet you it absolutely will.

Based on standard FFG tournament rules, I would expect any modification to the bases other than painting or adding basing material will disqualify the army. If you're planning on playing casually with friends, this is a non-issue. If you're planning on playing at official FFG events (basically anything supported by an OP kit), you'll want to check first. If it's a Store Championship, I'd expect the answer will vary based on the store. For anything higher than a Store Championship, I'd expect a no.
