Acrylic tokens, who makes the coolest?

By drail14me, in X-Wing

Ok pilots, who makes the coolest acrylic tokens? Provide links please. Let's see what's out there.

FFG. But you have to win them.

I like my tokens from Buy the Same Token, via eBay from the UK.

The tokens are very clear, easy to read, and there's never any confusion about what they are. I find a lot of odd shapes and colors of custom tokens to be confusing, and some of the extra "greeble" in some of FFG's tokens also makes them less clear. Unambiguous is what I prefer.

Hands-down the only tokens I've ever considered buying, the styling is top-notch.

I haven't bought their tokens, but their templates are gorgeous! Highly recommended.

I agree. These are the best looking ones I've seen. I guess these come in OP Kits? I've never played in a Store Champ tournament so never seen them in person.

Applied Perspectives Premium tokens. The regulars are meh, but the premium are fantastic.

I own some of these and they're great. Fantastic service, too.

I own tokens and templates from curled paw and highly recommend them. They were great quality, affordable, and shipped quickly.

I will give cog o two a shout out. I used them for my acrylic templates.

I also think Curled Paw looks good. I think they have the best looking stress tokens out of everyone.

I've bought a lot from team covenant, never disappointed in quality, shipping, and customer service..

Wade Piche makes the coolest!

I've got some tokens and templates from Curled Paw. They were pretty affordable and have served me well.

I'm trying to talk myself out of shelling out for these.

I've got their Interceptor template set and it is fantastic. It draws comments from a lot of people who see it. Mine has a magnetized cover too. I ordered it back in Feb. I also have the range rulers with Vader, TIE Pilot, Inquisitor, Palp, FO pilot, and Kylo on them. The templates are just great.

The tokens looks really really good in images but mine aren't as vibrant in person. My weapons disabled tokens are slightly off-center too. I got those and the target locks.

+1 for Cog O Two. Their designs are simple but effective.

Depends on the kit.

Personally i think the latest batch of focus and evade tokens are ugly as sin. Wish I'd been playing when the good ones were being handed out.

I love my curled paw tokens, but don't buy them! I don't want to get my tokens confused with yours!!

I agree with Hawkstrike on preferring unambiguous tokens and purchased mine from Applied Perspectives. I went with their "regular" style that MegaSilver doesn't prefer. I find the opaque red and green tokens are very clear and easy to see. I play with a friend with poor vision, and having focus and evade tokens that are easy to tell apart in any lighting is valuable for us.

For those who don't fancy taking the costs of US -> EU shipping, I might recommend BoardGamesFactory:

One thing definitely worth noticing is that you get to choose both colour and finish (solid or semi-transparent) of each batch of tokens, regardless of the design. Personally, I never liked the idea of both focus and evade tokens sharing the green colour space (the stock ones from the game pieces are easy to mess up in your storage if you're not careful), so I got my focuses yellow (even though now the shape of these and evades is different, so it wasn't necessary after all, oh well...).

I wouldn't say that. The evade ones are pretty cool. Too bad the focus tokes weren't rectangular as well. That would have been cool. The oval one are kinda blah. Hope there are shield tokens in the 4th quarter kits. Those are pretty much the last regularly used token that I haven't won in acrylic. Those and crit tokens. And target lock tokens. But I have after market ones of those last two.

I would like to agree, because winning loot is always the "coolest" thing, but neither the templates nor tokens are the best on the market imho. Cog'O'Two has most definitely the cooler templates and Micro Art Studios has the cooler tokens. And I am sure there are more 3rd party sources for simply better designed accessories.

Cog'o'Two now has much better shipping conditions as well, so it is now reasonable to buy directly from even outside of the UK, and even if that wouldn't be the case, Tritex Games had good shipping conditions for Cog'o'Two products since a while now anyway.

And both, Cog'o'Two and the MicroArt stuff is super easily painted. No skill required, just some acryl color, a single brush and a piece of kitchen roll to get rid of unneeded extra color. Actually, you can even leave out the brush and just dip them in the color, though you most likely need a little more kitchen roll than to clean up. Fill the engraved parts is really fool-proofed and Cog'o'Two even delivers a paper wrap around the parts which are not engraved, so you basically don't "need" the kitchen roll either. Just some paint. Though you save a lot of paint when you use a brush ^_^
