We had 4 and I only made it to 2 going 4-4 or 3-5 total. The other 2 were derailed first by a funeral and second by a suicidal deer, which totaled the wife's 'baby'. I may not make it to regionals as I don't know how long it will take to repay those points.......
Store championships look done everywhere today.

If you were consistently losing to him in the finals game, then perhaps. Nathan is a great player, but it sounds like he's not the only roadblock you have to not winning.
None taken. I should point out that 3 of my 9 SC swiss losses have been to players who have made top 2 at national events. Including to Nathan and Zack Matthews in back to back games at one of my SC's this year.
I've made top 10 or better at every SC I've gone to so I know I have the ability to win one.
I think the most frustrating part for me is that my 2 best SC's were my first two after having been playing the game for just a few months. I'm a MUCH better player than I was back then but my results have gotten worse.

The problem with SCs like that is that you end up seeing Nathan/AZachMatthewsCarolinaCratesRadioHour caliber players not only in the cut but sometimes also in Swiss. Or not.
The difference between going 4-1, making the middle of the cut, and a good shot at top 4 vs. going 3-2 and scrubbing out often boils down to whether or not you dodge them in swiss.
Had to return to my hometown for the summer, which is barren for gaming.
Were work permitting, I could have gone out of my way to a few, but it wasn't in the cards.
The one I did manage to go to...had a distributor **** up so we only got a Q kit.
I won that tournament though.
My local one is on 9 September. Looking forward to it. Now I just have to figure out what to run...

That's always the problem, figuring what list to run, isn't It? I attended just 2 SCs this season. There were more in the area but farther away that I wanted to travel. The first one I went to the list I brought fell flat on its face, going 0-2 and a drop. I was still looking for a list to bring to the next SC when I remembered the list I brought to a regional in 2016 - Serissu and 3 TPVs, all with Mindlink and Mangler. I remembered doing pretty good with this list, going 3-2-1 at the regional, so I thought why not. It can't be any worse than the last list I tried. The result? 6th place in a 19 person tournament. I went 3-1, my only loss coming to a FSR variant because of an error in maneuvering (I set a 1 turn thinking I set a 1 bank). I did get a full set of 2017 range rulers out of the deal (2 players in the final 4 already had the range 1 & 2 rulers and passed them down the line) so that was a bonus. Looks like I finaly found my tournament list after all....until Attanni Mindlink is murdered by FAQ that is.

T70 Driver's loss was to me, and he's not kidding: it really did come down to that one mistaken maneuver. That Mangler list just ripped my Fair and Balanced list apart ... two hits and a crit on every attack hits right at the exact seams of Biggs/Lowhhrick/Selflessness/DTF. It will need to be careful with Dengar-Nym, though ... 4 HP dies quick to Bomblets and ABT.

I would agree on the being careful versus Nymgar. The tournament I went to after the Fremont SC I faced a Nymgar list in the final round. We were both 3-0 at the time. In the first 2 rounds of combat I managed to take down Nym with 5 crits showing. Unfortunately before he died, Nym got off a Cruise Missile and splashed Serissu. After that Dengar cleaned up as my dice went ice cold. After the game my opponent said he was surprised just how fast Nym was killed.
