Introducing Meta Man Thweek, The Tournament Bounty Hunter

The intent of this list is to counter tournament staples like: Biggs, Dengar, Fenn and numerous Imperial Ties. It's meant to be flown by staying in formation and jousting.

The general order of activation would be for IG-88B to lead with Enhanced Scopes and take an Evade with Inaldra who is following with Bodyguard at Range 1 under Tactical Jammer. Inaldra then takes Focus to boost IG or Thweek's Agility to 4 with Bodyguard in the Combat Phase. Thweek's activation depends on the Pilot Ability chosen as it adds a crucial edge to the list's defense, damage or control, but it should still follow the Tactical Jammer with Inaldra.

Their offense strategy in the Combat Phase follows in Pilot Skill order: IG-88B strips tokens with the Gunner ability and Thweek damages shields for Inaldra to land it's Mangler(which it can then spend it's shield to modify the attack roll in lieu of the Focus).

Their defense strategy is that they are all rolling 4 greens, their frontman is a threat with an Evade and Glitterstim on an 8 point body, Thweek has Autothrusters(and if it's copied ability is clutch it can take Bodyguard to go to 5 greens) and Inaldra can regenerate it's shields and reroll greens. They're awful targets, assuming you're able to joust.

All of these ships have repositioning and great 180's too, with the Aggressor and Starviper doing 3-speed S-loops and the M3-A K-turning at a 5 and 3-speed. This allows the squad to jockey engagements and navigate obstacles.


Because this list flies 3 ships in formation I think it's counter match is bomber lists which makes me excited to see where the new Scurgg and Bomblet Generator meta takes us!



I was happy to include the Aggressor outside of it's duo build as well as getting the StarViper and my favorite M3-A pilot on the field. I also wanted to put Bodyguard to good use. If anyone has ideas to streamline variations, please let me know! Happy flying

I like the idea of utilizing bodyguard + keeping Thweek cheap. Depending on what someone else brings, Thweek could be gamechanging, or totally useless. And without the ability to evade (and without a good enough dial to truly be arc-dodgers), Starvipers die pretty quickly - though the crazy barrel roll should help.

My concern is that IG-88B really wants Autothrusters for defense and Fire Control Systems for that 2nd shot - the HLC is going to be best at range 3. How about this? It's a different idea, but I think it might allow IG to avoid dangerous range 1 encounters, while still taking Inaldra's bonus. I added the stealth device to Inaldra - I think without her action, she'll need the additional green die.

Yeah, I've considered not putting more upgrades on Thweek because of that reason. He's lucky he has Autothrusters because that's all that'll make him shine :lol:

It looks like that build would put a lot of the weight on IG's performance, which is cool because it's a strong ship, but it's tough to upgrade to FCS here. It wouldn't allow the other ships to fly behind it because of the activation order(although there's less reason to without Tactical Jammer), they'd have to flank.
With PS 0 IG can aggressively move and take an action to make the opponent bumper jam ships into Fearlessness range.
I think without Enhanced Scopes it could be possible for the opponent to make IG bump and fire at Thweek or Inaldra, depending on where the Bodyguard goes(if it doesn't bump). Inaldra's ability would also become a one time use and Thweek would become vulnerable.

I like that you changed the Elite and Ilicit talents. I also think those are the most flexible upgrades on the list. If the meta has a lower ship count, it could be worth it to remove Glitterstim and maybe Fearlessness to upgrade Inaldra to really sell that Range 3 HLC.

The list won't become an alpha strike and IG will lose it's defensive opener without Glitterstim and Dodge, but with Inaldra's help it could put pressure on taking IG out before it "Settles the Score":lol:. A Score to Settle is an amazing upgrade. Sometimes it changes the way opponents fly!
