So, having another big game this coming Tuesday, with my opponent and I picking each other's Admirals. I picked Vader and Jerjerrod for him, and in return he picked Rieekan and Dodonna for me. Im usually a Mothma adherent and none too keen on squadron shenanigans beyond having 3 or 4 to allow my big ships to go play uninterrupted, so suggestions from squadronistas would be especially welcome.

As an aside, neither fleet can use the benefits of the other/ activate the other's squads.

Also, whilst im open to new ideas, please dont suggest Hammerheads/ Garel's Honour. Dont bring that trash talk round here (they're shockingly pants )

For large format games aces lose their benefit quite rapidly as numbers are key. If both enemy fleets bring 120 points in squads both your fleets will crumple pretty quick.

Last time I played a big game I brought 17 A-Wings and they simply cleaned house against the mixed ace bomber/fighter wing they faced.

For Rieekan, I'd honestly just bring Jan and Norra and then max points in generic Y and/or B wings. Use Rieekans ability to keep your carriers alive, as its the more effective use anyway.

Dodonna I'd shift the biggs ball to. Sure he can't zombie with Rieekan, but that isn't as good of a play as it used to be. Luke, Wedge, Biggs, and max points generic X-Wings can shuffle a lot of damage around, especially if you can get the X-Wings bouncing on the station. I would turn one mc30 into another flotilla with boosted coms and all the rest of the points go to X-Wings.

The Rieekan fleet bombs with intel while Dodonnas flotilla and X-Wings provide a deep barrier of escort moving damage to the generics and the Mc30 wolfpack waits for injured targets and hunts them down.

P.s. Redundant Shields is really bad. Literally anything else would be better in that slot.

Im liking the idea of a big swarm, will have a play around with that, and 17 A Wings sounds pretty fun! Cheers.
